However, in order to use it you will have to go to NPC Nickel in Lakebar Village to buy his registration tools for beginners, otherwise you won't be able to use it.

To be able to use this ability you will have to equip it and you will be able to get close to any interacting tree to start the registration. So as you can imagine, you can't just log any tree, but you will have to search for them in regions like Bilbrin Forest in West Luterra.
