In the Lies of P: Overture DLC, players will encounter three distinct cipher machines, each tied to a different part of the main story and offering unique rewards. While the objectives involve some puzzle-solving and backtracking, they are manageable. This guide provides a player-friendly rundown on how to find and solve the Corroded Cipher Machine.

Cipher 2: Corroded Cipher Machine – Location and Solution

Step 1: Obtain the Corroded Cipher Machine

Your journey to solving the Corroded Cipher Machine begins by acquiring the machine itself.

• Defeat the Bulldozer: The Corroded Cipher Machine is obtained by defeating a powerful elite enemy known as the Bulldozer. This mini-boss is located in the Ancient Ruin Excavation Site, within the Overture DLC area. Once you've successfully defeated it, the Corroded Cipher Machine will be added to your inventory.

Step 2: Decrypt the Cipher at Eventide Hotel

With the Corroded Cipher Machine in your possession, your next step is to decrypt it to receive your clue.

• Visit the Tracker: Head over to the Eventide Hotel (your main hub in the DLC). Locate the Tracker NPC and speak with him.
• Decode the Machine: Select the option to "Decode the Corroded Cipher Machine." After the decryption process, the Tracker will reveal the next location you need to investigate: the Ancient Ruin Excavation Site.

Step 3: Explore the Ancient Ruin Excavation Site

Return to the Ancient Ruin Excavation Site to follow up on the Tracker's clue.

• Follow the Sloping Path: Upon arrival at the Ancient Ruin Excavation Site, take the path that slopes down to your left.
• Descend the Ladder: As you continue forward along this path, you will notice a ladder. Climb down this ladder to reach the lower level of the excavation site.

Step 4: Investigate and Find the Hidden Chamber

Once on the lower level, you'll need to find a hidden passage.

• Locate the Damaged Robot: After descending the ladder, turn and go left. You will soon come across a damaged robot lying near some rocks.
• Break the Weak Wall: Just next to this damaged robot, there is a fragile-looking section of the wall that distinctly stands out from the surrounding rock. You'll need to use an explosive to breach it.
• Use an Explosive: Equip and use any explosive item from your inventory (e.g., a Throwing Cell, Thermite, etc.) to breakopen this weak wall. This action will reveal a hidden chamber behind it.

Step 5: Find the Misfit's Diary and Complete the Quest

Enter the newly revealed hidden chamber to find the crucial quest item.

• Examine the Skeleton: Carefully explore this newly unlocked space. Inside, you will find a skeleton resting in the cave. Interact with or examine this skeleton.
• Acquire the Misfit's Diary: The skeleton is holding the Misfit's Diary, which is the key item needed to complete this part of the quest.
• Report Back to the Tracker: With the Misfit's Diary in hand, fast travel or make your way back to the Tracker at Eventide Hotel.
• Hand Over the Diary: Speak with the Tracker again and hand over the Misfit's Diary to complete the quest.

Reward: The Ancient Disk

As a reward for successfully completing the Corroded Cipher Machine quest, you'll receive a rare and valuable item: the Ancient Disk. The Ancient Disk is a collectible item that is generally used to obtain special rewards or unlock lore entries within the game. It is not anequipable item or weapon.
