Discover where to repair all items in KCD2. Get tips and locationsMaintaining your gear is crucial for survival in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. This guide explains how and where to repair your weapons and armor, as well as some tips for field maintenance.

Craftsmen Locations and Specialties:

Unlike some games that let you repair everything at one NPC, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 requires you to visit specific craftsmen for different types of gear:
  • Tailor: Repairs fabric clothing.
  • Cobbler: Repairs leather clothing and gear (shoes, gloves, etc.).
  • Blacksmith: Repairs armor and melee weapons.
  • Carpenter: Repairs ranged weapons (bows, crossbows).

Repairing Clothes:

Repairing clothing can be a bit tedious because you need to visit different craftsmen for different materials.

  • Fabric Clothes: Visit a tailor.
  • Leather Gear: Visit a cobbler.

In the starting region of Troskowitz, the tailor, Bartoshek, is located in the town itself. However, the nearest cobbler, Matthew, is at TroskyCastle. It's recommended to stock up on Tailor's and Cobbler's Kits toperform repairs in the field.

Repairing Armor:

All metal armor must be repaired by a blacksmith or with a Blacksmith'sKit. Armor, mechanically, is treated like clothing and cannot bemanually repaired via a mini-game. Blacksmiths are crucial, not only for armor repair but also for weapon crafting.

Repairing Melee Weapons:

There are three ways to repair melee weapons:

  • Blacksmith: Pay a blacksmith to repair your weapon.
  • Blacksmith's Kit: Use a Blacksmith's Kit manually.
  • Grindstone/Sharpening Wheel: Use a grindstone to sharpen edged weapons.
  • Grindstones are plentiful in medieval Bohemia and offer a satisfying mini-game forsharpening your weapons, which can also (with the right Perk) make themmore potent in combat.1 However, not all melee weapons can be repaired on a grindstone.Generally, only weapons with a sharp edge that can be reasonably held in your lap can be sharpened this way. Spears and maces usually require ablacksmith or a kit.

    Repairing Ranged Weapons:

Ranged weapons (bows and crossbows) must be repaired by a carpenter. Thismakes sense, as most ranged weapons are primarily made of wood. Manycarpenters also have a grindstone nearby, allowing you to maintain youredged weapons as well.

    Tips for Gear Maintenance:

    • Repair Kits: Carry Tailor's, Cobbler's, and Blacksmith's Kits for on-the-go repairs. However, these are relatively rare.
    • Groschen: Ensure you have enough Groschen to pay for repairs.
    • Prioritize Repairs: Don't neglect your gear. Damaged equipment can significantly hinder your combat effectiveness.
    • Grindstones: Utilize grindstones whenever possible to save Groschen and potentially improve your weapons.
    • Plan Ahead: Consider stocking up on repair kits and visiting craftsmen when you'rein town to avoid being caught with broken gear in the wilderness.

By understanding where to go for different repairs and utilizing theavailable resources, you can keep your gear in top condition and ensureHenry is always ready for action in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
