All cheats and console commands in Civilization 7

Civilization 7, while streamlined, still presents a learning curve. Cheats and console commands can be helpful, especially for new players. This guide explains how to enable the console and use the available options.

Enabling the Console:

Locate AppOptions.txt: Navigate to the game's configuration file. The usual path is:  My PC > Drive (Game Install) > Users > Username > AppData > Local > Firaxis Games > Sid Meier's Civilization 7

Open AppOptions.txt: Open the AppOptions.txt file using Notepad or another text editor.

Modify EnableDebugPanels: Find the line ;EnableDebugPanels -1 (without the parentheses).

Change Value: Change the line to EnableDebugPanels 1 (remove the semicolon).

Save File: Save the AppOptions.txt file.

Launch Game: Start Civilization 7.

Open Console: Press the Tilde (~) key on your keyboard to open the console.

Console Placement: Select "Move" in the console to position it at the top or bottom of the screen.

Using Cheats (Console Options):

Unlike many games, Civilization 7's console doesn't use typed commands. Instead, it offers checkbox options under different tabs. The available options are limited:

• Map (Debug):
  • Reveal All: Shows the entire map, including all settlements, resources, and factions.
  • Explore All: Reveals the map but doesn't show everything on it (likely keeps Fog of War active but reveals terrain).
  • Enable FOW: Toggles the Fog of War on or off.
• UI (Gameplay):
  • Force Age Transition: Immediately advances your civilization to the next Age.

Important Notes:

• Limited Options: The available "cheats" are primarily for map exploration and agetransition. There are no options to directly modify resources, gold, orother gameplay elements.
• No Traditional Cheats: Don't expect to type in commands for specific effects. The console is primarily for debugging and limited gameplay alterations.
• Experimental Options: The console options are best viewed as experimental tools to get abetter understanding of the game mechanics or to quickly test certainstrategies.

Using the Console Effectively:

• Map Exploration: "Reveal All" and "Explore All" are great for scouting the map and planning your expansion.
• Age Transition: "Force Age Transition" can be useful for quickly testing late-gamestrategies or seeing how different units and technologies interact.

While the console in Civilization 7 doesn't offer the wide range of cheatsfound in some other games, it still provides some helpful options forexploration and experimentation. Use these tools wisely to enhance your learning experience and gain a deeper understanding of the game.
