While investigating the three victims under physician Albich's care, your path will inevitably lead you to the expansive monastery cellar. However, progress is quickly halted by a stubbornly locked door that cannot be picked or forced open. Finding the crucial cellar door key becomes the central objective, and this guide will walk you through the exact steps to secure it.

The Initial Cellar Investigation

Your journey to the key begins deep beneath the monastery. Regardless of whether you are following clues about the translator Jaroslav or the maid Blazhena, you will be tasked with searching the cellar for anything suspicious.For the most direct route, take the southernmost staircase leading down. At the bottom of the first flight, make an immediate right. You will quickly notice a tell-tale clue: a patch of spilled wine on the stone floor. After climbing over a wooden obstruction, you will find the locked door that blocks your path. This is the moment the quest updates, officially tasking you with locating the specific key for this door.

Locating the Key Holder: Steward Zdenyek

The crucial piece of information that players must remember is that the key is not hidden elsewhere in the main cellar. Instead, you must look above ground.Your primary lead is Steward Zdenyek, who can be found in the monastery's courtyard. Speaking with him after inquiring about the maid Blazhena will point you toward her friend, a woman named Valerie. In conversation, Valerie will reveal a critical secret: Zdenyek stole an item from Blazhena and has stored it in a private cellar to which only he has access. This item is the very key you need.

Gathering Evidence in Zdenyek's Private Cellar

Before confronting the steward, it is wise to gather proof of his wrongdoing.He is standing near the entrance to his private storage cellar (aseparate, smaller area from the main monastery cellar).

Search Blazhena's Room: First, follow the quest marker to 'Search Blazhena's room.' Here, youwill not only discover that she was hoarding a significant amount ofmoney but also find a Pantry Key on the small table by her bed. This key will be essential for the next step.

Investigate the Storage Cellar: Enter the cellar near Zdenyek. Use the Pantry Key from Blazhena's roomto unlock one of the doors. Other doors may require a successfullockpicking attempt, or you can attempt to pickpocket the relevant keysfrom Zdenyek himself.

Find the Incriminating Evidence: Inside the final room on the right, you will uncover the evidence youneed: proof that Steward Zdenyek has been systematically watering downthe monastery's wine supply for his own profit.

Confronting Zdenyek and Claiming Your Prize

Armed with this knowledge, return to Steward Zdenyek and confront him abouthis scheme. When faced with the truth, he will confess. The item he took from Blazhena was, in fact, the key to the locked monastery cellardoor.

Having a high Speech skill can be beneficial here to ensure the conversation goes smoothly. Oncehe confesses, Zdenyek will agree to lead you to the key. Follow himthrough the nearby hop field, and he will eventually hand over Blazhena's Key.

With the cellar door key finally in your possession, a new objective willappear, directing you to 'Search the hidden room in the cellar.' You can now return to the main monastery cellar, unlock the previouslyimpassable door, and continue your investigation into the dark secretshidden within Sedletz Monastery.
