How to Complete the Roach Guts Wish in Silksong

Where to Start the Quest

The Roach Guts Wish is a Hunt Task given by Benjin and Crull, two NPCs you’ll encounter in Sinner’s Road, a winding and enemy-filled region in Silksong. You’ll find them near the top-right section of the area, standing beside a broken cart and a small campfire. Once you speak to them, they’ll ask Hornet to collect 10 Roach Guts by hunting down Muckroaches, a type of enemy native to the region. There’s no elaborate setup—just accept the task and begin your hunt. Importantly, Roach Guts won’t drop until you’ve officially picked up the Wish from Benjin and Crull. If you’ve been defeating Muckroaches beforehand and wondering why nothing drops, that’s why.

Where to Find Muckroaches

Muckroaches are fairly common in Sinner’s Road,especially along the main paths and near broken bridges and collapsedbuildings. They tend to spawn in small groups and are often found near Resting Spots, making it easy to farm them repeatedly.

Look for areas with:

  • Cracked stone platforms
  • Pools of greenish muck
  • Clusters of broken carts and signs

These locations often have Muckroaches patrolling or hiding just off-screen. If you’re having trouble locating them, press R3/RS to display your current objective, which will highlight relevant zones.

How to Fight Muckroaches Effectively

Muckroaches are aggressive and deceptively fast. Their primary attack is a lunging bite, which they commit to fully once initiated. This means they can’t cancel or redirect mid-attack—but it also means you can exploit theircommitment.

Hit-and-Run Strategy

The safest and most effective way to fight them is using a hit-and-run approach:

  • Wait for the lunge: Stand just outside their range and bait the attack.
  • Dodge backward: As they leap forward, use Swift Step or a simple jump to avoid the hit.
  • Counterattack: Once they land, they’re briefly vulnerable. Dash in and land 1–2 hits.
  • Repeat: Back off again and wait for the next lunge.

    • This method minimizes risk and allows you to take down multipleMuckroaches without losing health. Avoid attacking them head-on ormid-lunge, as their animation locks them into a damaging hitbox.

    Tools That Help

    If you’ve unlocked any of the following tools, they can make the fight easier:

    • Tether Spikes: Set traps before engaging to punish lunges
    • Needle Bomb: Toss one after dodging to hit multiple targets
    • Drifter’s Cloak: Use for aerial repositioning if surrounded

    Farming Roach Guts Quickly

    Once you’ve mastered the Muckroach’s pattern, farming Roach Gutsbecomes straightforward. Here are a few tips to speed things up:

    • Use Resting Spots: After clearing a group, rest to respawn enemies and repeat the loop
    • Mark spawn zones: Use map markers to highlight high-density areas
    • Avoid deep side paths: Stick to main roads for faster encounters
    • Don’t overkill: You only need 10 Roach Guts, so once you’ve got them, return to Benjin and Crull

    Each Muckroach drops 1 Roach Gut, though occasionally you may get 2 from larger variants. Keep an eye on your inventory to avoid overshooting the goal.

    Completing the Roach Guts Wish

    Once you’ve collected all 10 Roach Guts, return to Benjin and Crull at the top-right of Sinner’s Road. They’ll thank you for your efforts and reward you with a new tool: Tacks.

    What Are Tacks?

    Tacks are ground-based spike traps that Hornet candeploy during combat. They remain active for a short duration and damage any enemy that steps on them. You’ll receive 7 Tacks initially, and they can be refilled at any Resting Spot, provided you have enough Shell Shards.

    Tacks are especially useful against:

    • Fast-moving enemies
    • Swarm-type foes
    • Bosses with predictable movement patterns

    They’re a great addition to any build focused on area control or trap-based combat, and they synergize well with tools like Needle Bomb or Bind Burst.

    Final Tips

    • Don’t rush the fight: Muckroaches are simple but punishing if underestimated
    • Use terrain: Ledges and platforms can help you bait lunges safely
    • Experiment with tools: Tacks open up new strategies—try them out in different zones
    • Track your progress: Use the objective marker to stay focused on the hunt
