Attacks you can't block or stop
In play, attacks are often identified with colors, and enemy red attacks are those types of attacks that you can't block. If you try to block an enemy attack that shows a red dot during it, you will be hit and take damage.
Standard attacks can be blocked by pressing the L1 button. These attacks do not cause a red dot or a blue dot. Blue dot attacks can be blocked and / or stopped.

Parry is also located to the L1 button. A stop is made when you press the L1 button at the last possible second.
