Master the FBC Firebreak with our Hot Fix Job Guide. Get expert tips and strategies to enhance your gameplay and tackle challenges effectively!
In FBC: Firebreak, your primary goal is to contain the anomalous objects within the Oldest House. The "Hot Fix" job, the first mission you'll undertake in this co-op shooter, focuses on preventing the building's furnace from melting everything. While the objectives are straightforward, mastering environmental interactions and team coordination will significantly streamline your efforts. This guide will cover all objectives in "Hot Fix" and provide essential tips to help you and your team complete the job efficiently and with minimal casualties.
FBC Firebreak: Hot Fix Job Guide
Your crew's mission in "Hot Fix" is to repair transfer fans in the Oldest House's furnace facility and keep the furnace itself from overheating. The core objectives are:
- Charge and fix generators
- Repair breaker panels
- Dump barrels of Black Rock into the furnace
Areas 1 and 2
The initial two areas of "Hot Fix" are dedicated to repairing generators and breaker panels.
- Crisis Kits:
- Players with Fix Kits and Jump Kits will find repairs in these areas much faster. The Fix Kit excels at mending broken machinery, while the Jump Kit can quickly power up generators.
- If you're playing solo, the Splash Kit is highly recommended. While its Fluidic Ejector won't directly fix things, it can douse you in water, providing resistance against the furnace's intense heat and preventing the "Burning" status effect.
- Environmental Hazard: In Area 2, an environmental hazard is introduced: the large transfer fans will periodically emit scorching streams of hot air. This thermal blast will burn anything in its path, including both players and enemies. If you see the fans begin to spin, immediately get out of the way and wait for the flare to subside.
- Shelters: Throughout the level, remember to open the Shelters. These act as valuable respawn points and often contain ample supplies, including ammo, grenades, and potentially Lost Assets (the game's currency for upgrades). Map layouts in FBC: Firebreak jobs do not change, so you can learn their locations.
Area 3 - Furnace Finale
This area, typically accessible only in Clearance 3 (higher difficulty), requires you to quench the furnace.
- Black Rock Barrels: Your primary task is to fill barrels with Black Rock and throw them into the furnace.
- Some barrels will already be full upon your arrival.
- For the remaining barrels, you'll need to fill them at the filling stations located near the entrance of this area.
- Loading Barrels: Once filled, throw the barrels into the loading valves of the furnace.
- Activate Furnace: After loading barrels, charge the adjacent generator to initiate the process. Wait for the barrels to glow, indicating they've been successfully registered.
Key Tips for the Furnace Finale:
- Furnace Flares: The furnace will flare up every time you send a Black Rock barrel into it, causing heat damage.
- Burning Status: If you catch on fire and receive the "Burning" status, you can ride ziplines to quickly extinguish yourself. This works across all areas where ziplines are present.
- Burn Resistance: To increase your resistance to Burn buildup, fully drench yourself with water beforehand (e.g., via the Splash Kit or showers).
- Passive Heat Buildup: Simply standing in the open within this area will cause your Burn meter to slowly build up.
- Barrel Stacking Strategy: To significantly speed up the objective, stack the filled Black Rock barrels next to the zipline connected to the furnace. This allows your team to dump multiple barrels in rapid successionbefore the furnace erupts, minimizing downtime and exposure to heat.
- Hiss Spawns: Hiss enemies will continuously spawn while you are attempting to quench the furnace, so remain vigilant and be prepared for constant combat.
- Shelter Holdouts: There are two Shelters located below the furnace platform that can serve as excellent holdout spots when dealing with large waves of enemies.
- Healing in Shelters: Don't forget that the faucets inside Shelters can heal you back to full health. Utilize these strategically to recover from combat and environmental damage.
