In Dune: Awakening, base building and maintenance are fundamental for survival. A critical aspect of this is paying taxes. Neglecting tax payments will leave your base vulnerable to environmental damage, player looting, and degradation. Here's a comprehensive guide on how taxes work and where to pay them.

Dune Awakening: Where to Pay Taxes

Step 1: Travel to a Tax Office

Taxes in Dune: Awakening can only be paid at designated Tax Offices located in the game's two main settlements: Arrakeen or Harko Village.

How to Get There:

• Personal Ornithopter: If you own a personal Ornithopter, this is the most convenient and free method of travel.
• Taxi Ornithopter: If you don't have your own vehicle, you can utilize a Taxi Ornithopter service.
  • Access Point: Head to any Tradepost to hire a taxi flight. The earliest Tradepost you're likely to encounter is Griffin’s Reach, situated in Hagga Basin South. Ascend to the Tradepost located on the cliff and speak with the pilot in the northeast corner of the room.
  • Taxi Cost: A taxi flight to a settlement typically costs 2,500 Solaris.
  • Return Flights: Don't worry about getting stranded; return flights from settlements back to any Tradepost are free, even if you're out of Solaris.

Step 2: Bring Enough Solaris

Before embarking on your journey to pay taxes, ensure you have sufficient Solaris on hand:

• Taxi Fare: Account for the 2,500 Solaris taxi fare if you plan to use this service.
• Tax Amount: Calculate the tax amount for each Sub-Fief you own. Bases expand across multiple Sub-Fiefs, and each incurs its own tax.
• Extra Solaris: It's always wise to bring extra Solaris if you intend to shop atvendors or purchase upgrades while in Arrakeen or Harko Village.

Step 3: Pay Your Taxes

Once you arrive at either Arrakeen or Harko Village, locate the Tax Collector to make your payment.

Where to Pay in Arrakeen:

• Upon entering the main building, navigate to the northwestern room on the ground floor.
• You will find the Tax Collector positioned behind a desk.
• Interact with the Tax Collector. You'll be given the option to pay taxes for one Sub-Fief at a time or to settle all your Sub-Fiefs in a single transaction.

Where to Pay in Harko Village:

• Head to the southeasternmost room on the ground floor.
• The setup is identical to Arrakeen: speak to the Tax Collector and select your preferred payment option.
