How to Scan the Site Under the Giant Cactus in Dune Awakening

The "Missing Pyon" quest sends you out into the huge desert of Arrakis. You need to find hidden spots using special tools. One tricky part is finding a place to scan that's a bit east and south of a giant cactus. If you don't know what to look for, you might miss it easily.This guide will show you exactly where to go, what tool you need, and how to do the scan quickly. This way, you can keep going on your quest without getting stuck.

Where to Go for the Quest

• Region: The O'odham
• Area: The top-right (northeastern) corner of the O'odham map.

What You Need

Before you leave your base, make sure you have this tool:

• Handheld Resource Scanner: This is a small, power-operated scanner you hold. It lets you scan anarea and mark important things directly on your map. You absolutely need this in your inventory to finish this part of the quest.
  • To get the scanner: You'll need to research it in the "Iron Products" section of your research menu. You can build it at a General Fabricator or Survival Fabricator using:
    • 9x Iron Ingots
    • 6x EMF Generators
  • It also needs an energy cell with at least 150 energy to work.

How to Scan the Spot

Go to O'odham: Travel to the O'odham region, then head to its top-right corner.

Watch for Enemies: There might be a few enemies there, but usually not many. You can fight them or just run past them if you want.

Find the Big Cactus: Look for a very large cactus. The spot you need to scan is just a biteast and south of it. Sometimes there's a clear circle on the groundnearby – that's your hint!

Use Your Scanner: Equip your Handheld Resource Scanner.

Start Scanning: Point your scanner and "shoot" it around the area near the cactus.

• Tip: Be patient! Sometimes you have to try a few times for the scanner towork. Make sure you're aiming right at the spot near the cactus.

Quest Updates: Once the scan works, your quest will update, and you'll know you did it!
