Dune Awakening: How To Get Thumper

Acquiring a Thumper, like most advanced tools in Dune: Awakening, begins with unlocking its schematic through research.

Unlock the Schematic:

• The Thumper schematic is found under the "Steel Products" section within the Research tab.
• Unlock Condition: You can unlock and craft the Thumper after successfully completing "The Fifth Trial of Aql." These trials are specific challenges found in various caves across Arrakis, often rewarding players with essential schematics.

Crafting Location: Once the schematic is unlocked, you can craft a Thumper at a Fabricator in your base.

Required Materials: To craft one Thumper, you will need the following materials:

• Water (35): This fundamental resource can be collected using various water-gathering structures like the Dew Reaper, Blood Purifier, and Windtraps.
• Steel Ingot (5): Steel Ingots are refined at an Ore Refinery by combining Carbon Ore, Iron Ingot, and Water.
• EMF Generator (4): EMF Generators are obtained from chests found inside caves throughout the game world.
• Silicone Block (3): Silicone Blocks are crafted at a Chemical Refinery using Flour Sand and Water.

How To Use Thumper in Dune: Awakening

Thumpers are specifically designed to manipulate Sandworm behavior by creating strong vibrations that mimic prey.

Equip and Place:

• Equip the Thumper from your inventory.
• Place the device anywhere in the open desert where Sandworms are a threat. It must be placed on sand, not on rocky terrain.

Activate and Distract:

• Once placed, the Thumper will immediately begin emitting high vibrations, which are irresistible to Sandworms.
• A Sandworm (if one is in the vicinity) will then emerge from the sand and devour the Thumper, effectively distracting it from your location.

Strategic Applications:

• Resource Farming: Using Thumpers to distract Sandworms is highly effective when you are attempting to farm vulnerable resources like Flour Sand or Spice in open desert areas. By placing a Thumper a safe distance away, youcan create a brief window to quickly gather resources using a StaticCompactor or by hand, then make your escape while the Sandworm isoccupied.
• Escape Mechanism: If you find yourself unexpectedly caught in an area with an activeSandworm, dropping a Thumper can provide a last-resort distraction,giving you precious seconds to reach safety (e.g., climb onto rocks orenter a vehicle).

• One-Time Use: Each Thumper is a single-use item; it is destroyed once devoured by a Sandworm.
