How to Get Opafire Gem in Dune Awakening

Opafire Gems are one of the rarer materials you can find in Dune: Awakening. Unlike most other resources in Hagga Basin, they aren't used for direct crafting and don't fetch a high price from traders. However, they do have a specific and important use in the endgame, particularly for PvE-focused players who want to contribute to the war effort.

Dune Awakening: How to Get Opafire Gem

 Opafire Gem Location

Players can find Opafire Gems inside buried treasure chests. These chests appear randomly in areas with open sand. Regions featuring large expanses of sand between solid land masses have a good chance of having these buried treasures scattered throughout. To find them, you'll need to use Scanners.

Vehicle Scanners

Scanners attached to Sandbikes and Ornithopters offer a much faster and safer way to locate buried treasure. You can build these scanners in Vehicle Fabricators (or the regular fabricator for Sandbikes). Once attached to your chosen vehicle, you can simply traverse the map and repeatedly use the Scan button.Each scan will reveal markers for resources, environmental hazards (like drumsand and quicksand), and other interactable objects within your scanner's range. If you see a lone marker appearing on open sand, there's a strong likelihood that treasure is buried beneath it.Important Note: Even when flying an Ornithopter, avoid hovering too close to open sand. You can still alert sandworms despite being airborne.

How to Get Buried Treasure

Once you've located a buried treasure out in the sands, use a Static Compactor to reveal it. A loot box will then emerge from the sand, allowing you to collect its contents. These chests should contain Opafire Gems along with other valuable items such as vehicle components, Spice, and more.

What are Opafire Gems Used For?

Opafire Gems are primarily used for donations to the different Great Houses through the Landsraad menu. The Landsraad functions as an endgame questing system for Guilds.Houses may issue requests for various items, and Opafire Gems arefrequently among those requested. If you contribute enough Opafire Gemsto fulfill these requests, you can claim a variety of rewards, directlyaiding your chosen House in the ongoing conflicts on Arrakis.
