Due north of Reaper's Coast lies the mysterious Bloodmoon Island. A thick layer of Deathfog wraps around the sea, blotting the island from the great land. The lone bridge that joined it to the coast has been demolished, such that, quite apparently, you cannot reach the island in some conventional manner. You can get more side quests and thicken the main plot by exploring Bloodmoon Island.
Despite scouring Repear's Coast for clues, the game doesn't really give a good indication of how to bypass the Deathfog and reach Bloodmoon Island. All paths leading to Bloodmoon Island and further Divinity plot progression are outlined below: Sin 2: The Original.
How to Get to Bloodmoon Island in Divinity Original Sin 2?
It would appear that a bridge at one time connected Bloodmoon Island to the mainland of Repear's Coast; that bridge has been destroyed, severing travel to the island. You'll find the bridge that leads to Bloodmoon Island northeast of Cloisterwood. And it's not far from where Jahan and Witch Alice are, either.
Once you have crossed this bridge, the waypoint for the Driftwood Fields will appear. If you turn on Spirit Vision, you'll see that it clearly shows the bridge's broken sections. The bridge itself is pretty tricky to cross since it is broken up into sections and some of those sections are bound. This spirit bridge shouldn't be too hard to cross with one of the following items or skills:
- If you receive the Gloves of Teleportation during the opening act of the game, you are allowed to cast the teleportation talent without having to learn it. While it's a real pain in the butt, you can teleport your companions across the bridge using the Gloves of Teleportation.
- You can in the game through special powers like Pheonix Dive, Cloak and Dagger and Tactical Retreat either teleport or translocate; this ability is quite useful for crossing the destroyed bridge. However, the next tip might be useful because this method has the potential drawback of requiring not all party members to be able to cast these talents.
- There are four unique items in the game called Teleporter Pyramids. With these, the character can instantly travel to other pyramids. Two of them are utilized for crossing the bridge to Bloodmoon Island. If a companion is to be escorted onto Bloodmoon Island by the use of a translocation skill, one can place one pyramid on the companion and the rest of the party may warp in using futuristic devices to the position of the transported companion after crossing the bridge.
- For even easier and quicker travel, the waypoint on Bloodmoon Island can be unlocked by having a companion with the translocation talent jump over the bridge. The other members of the group can then teleport to that location quickly without needing to go through the bridge.
Cross the Death Fog using a Ferry
While the above methods should provide you with some easy ways of reaching Bloodmoon Island, there is another method available for groups to do so if Fane is present in the party. Because of his undead nature, Fane is the only figure capable of passing through the Deathfog unharmed.
Northwest of Cloisterwood, on a pier, there's a zombie ferryman who promises to guide you through the Deathfog onto Bloodmoon Island. Save from Fane, everyone else will die in the crossing of Deathfog as it is more of a trap than a promise. If Fane alone uses the ferry to Bloodmoon Island, he will be safe. Then you can find the waypoint to Bloodmoon Island and send the party members there in a snap.
Riding the Boat Without a Fan at the Celebration
You'll have to resort to the Teleporter Pyramids if you wish to ride the boat across the Deathfog but your party doesn't include Fane. In order for this method to pay off, you'll need at least two Teleporter Pyramids:
- Free the party's chains and place a Teleporter Pyramid on a companion that was about to take the ferry.
- The follower will die upon setting foot on the ship off the pier of Bloodmoon Island.
- Use the second teleporter pyramid to transport to a corpse of one of your companions when the rest of them are tied up.
- Use the resurrect spell or a scroll to revive your dead friend.
- This is one of the fastest ways to reach Bloodmoon Island, especially if your party doesn't have Fane.
Avoid the Undead Ferryman since he can cast a Deathfog spell that instantly kills everything that comes into contact with it. If you feel like trying, save beforehand and then hit him. A Soothing Cold skillbook, a normal belt, and 3,750 XP are his to give if you defeat and loot his corpse.
