In Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, Hot Springs offer Sam a much-needed respite from the arduous demands of his deliveries. More than just a relaxing soak, these geothermal pools provide valuable stamina bonuses, unique item rewards from the Hydrologist, and are even tied to two distinct trophies, making them essential for players aiming for Platinum. They also serve as a unique form of fast travel.

Here's a comprehensive guide to finding, utilizing, and even creating Hot Springs in Death Stranding 2.

How to Find Hot Springs in Death Stranding 2

There are a total of 9 Hot Springs spread across Australia in Death Stranding 2. However, you won't be able to access or utilize them until certain story conditions are met.
1. Unlocking Hot Spring Access:

• You need to connect Heartman's Lab to the Chiral Network, which occurs during Main Order 23 from the Dowser.
• You also need to connect The Motherhood facility, which happens during Main Order 26 from the Data Scientist.

2. Your First Hot Spring (Miracle Spring):

• Once both Heartman's Lab and The Motherhood are online, head to The Motherhood. Just outside the facility, you'll find a pool of warm water – this is the Miracle Spring.
• Stand inside the water and hold the Square button to have Sam undress and bathe.
• Dollman's Song: If Sam uses a Hot Spring after 8 PM (in-game time), Dollman will sometimes sing "Ii Yu Da Na" by Cha Kato.

How to Get the "Spring Into Life" Trophy in Death Stranding 2

The "Spring into Life" trophy is awarded for digging a hot spring for the first time. This process is tied directly to your first encounter with a Hot Spring:

Bathe at The Motherhood: As described above, enter the Miracle Spring outside The Motherhood. Hold Square to bathe.

"Put Bucket on Head": While bathing, a new prompt will appear: "Put Bucket on Head". Hold Square again to select this option.

Teleport to Heartman's Lab: Sam will be immediately pulled under the water and instantly teleported to a strange room containing another Hot Spring – this is the Heartman's Spring, located inside Heartman's Lab.

Speak with the Hydrologist: Exit the Hot Spring in Heartman's Lab and interact with the terminal just outside the door. This will initiate a conversation with the Hydrologist.

Receive Hot Spring Digger Structure Data: After conversing with the Hydrologist, you will receive the Hot Spring Digger Structure Data for the PCC Level 2. This allows you to construct new Hot Springs.

Dig Your First Hot Spring:

• Open your map and look for Aid Requests in the Options screen. You should find an Aid Request pointing to a Hot Spring location northwest of Heartman's Lab.
• Venture to this specific location. To find the exact spot, equip a PCC Lv2 and cycle to the Hot Spring Digger option. As you get closer to a buildable spot, the PCC will emit louder beeps,indicating you're moving in the correct direction. The outline of theHot Spring will also turn blue when you're in the right place.
• Use the PCC Lv2 to summon and build a Hot Spring Digger.
• Once the new Hot Spring is created, the "Spring into Life" trophy will immediately pop.

Return for Reward: Be sure to return to Heartman's Lab and share your discovery with the Hydrologist for an additional reward!

How to Get the "Written in the Stars" Trophy in Death Stranding 2

The "Written in the Stars" trophy requires you to study the night sky for the first time while in a Hot Spring.

Nighttime and Clear Sky: This trophy can only be obtained at night (in-game time) and when the weather has a clear sky (no clouds or rain). If the weather isn't suitable, you can use the option to sleep in your Private Room to skip time until the conditions are met.

Enter Any Hot Spring: Once it's a clear night, enter any Hot Spring you've discovered or built.

Enter First-Person View: While in the Hot Spring, hold L1 to enter 1st-person mode.

Look for Constellations: Look around at the night sky. Each Hot Spring has its own uniqueconstellation of stars to observe. Move your camera around until youidentify a bright constellation.

Image Appears: Once you stare at a constellation, an image will appear (e.g., Lou, Hideo Kojima, etc.).

Trophy Pop: As soon as the image appears, the "Written in the Stars" trophy will pop.

There are a total of 9 Hot Springs in Death Stranding 2, all located within Australia. Each Hot Spring provides a unique temporary buff when Sam bathes in it. Bybuilding these Hot Springs, you can return to the Hydrologist atHeartman's Lab to receive unique rewards.

However, you cannot bring your cargo or vehicles with youwhen using this method; any cargo will be automatically placed in aprivate locker at the Hot Spring you depart from.
