In Persona 5: The Phantom X, Wonder, the protagonist, must cultivate five key Social Stats: Knowledge, Guts, Charm, Proficiency, and Kindness. Unlike the original Persona 5, each of these stats can now be raised to a formidable Rank 20, requiring a significant investment of Action Points.While various City Activities contribute to these stats, reading books is an often-overlooked yet highly effective method. By choosing the right book, you can precisely target the social stat you wish to improve.

• Shinjuku Red Light Bookstore: This store, found in the Shinjuku district, has a selection of books that sometimes come with additional perks like salary increases for specific part-time jobs.

Where to Read Books in P5X

Once you've purchased a book, you'll need to "read" it to gain its benefits. Reading is a "City Activity" that consumes one Action Point.

You have a few options for where to read:

• Activities Menu: You can often find the "Reading" option directly within your daily activities menu, particularly when you are at your house.
• At Home (Couch): Head to your protagonist's house and approach the couch in the living room. An interaction prompt will appear, allowing you to select "Read."
• On the Train: Occasionally, while riding the train to school, you will be given a prompt to read a book. This specific instance typically does not cost an Action Point, making it a very efficient way to get some free stat boosts.

When you select the option to read, you'll be presented with a list of allthe books you currently own. This menu will also display the rewards(i.e., which social stat will be raised) for each book, allowing you tostrategically choose which one to read based on your current needs.
