Where to Find Black Line Bunker in Borderlands 4

Hidden away in the Howl region of Borderlands 4, the Black Line Bunker (also known as the Blacklime Bunker) presents a significant challenge for any Vault Hunter seeking rare loot. This fortified location is filled with enemies and requires tricky platforming to navigate. However, the rewards—including the chance to farm for legendary items—are well worth the effort. This guide will walk you through the steps to gain entry, traverse the bunker's interior, and conquer its unique boss.

Borderlands 4: Black Line Bunker Location

Gaining Entry to the Black Line Bunker

Before you can even attempt to access the bunker, a crucial first step is required: you must complete the main story mission "One Foul Swoop." This mission is a prerequisite that unlocks the ability to interact with the special mechanisms required to open all Order Bunkers in the game. Without completing it, the bunker entrance will remain sealed.Once you have finished the mission, locate the bunker in the Howl region. You will notice that the entrance is situated on a high cliff face, seemingly out of reach. To get to it, follow the rock walls along the path until you find a grappling point. Once you are on the elevated platform, you'll need to use a combination of your double jump and glide abilities to reach the final platform directly in front of the bunker's entrance. The door is not yet open. You'll need to locate a nearby machine that dispenses a special corrosive canister. You must grab one of these canisters and throw it at the sealed door to dissolve the barrier and allow you to proceed.

Navigating the Interior

Upon entering the bunker, you'll find a respawn point and vendingmachines to stock up on ammo and supplies. The path forward isrelatively linear, though it is punctuated by platforming challenges and enemy encounters. While you can fight every foe you encounter, it isnot necessary for progression. Your goal is to keep moving, using yourabilities to glide over gaps and crouching under pipes to advance.

A key part of the journey involves a small flooded section. You'll needto swim through this area and then climb a set of stairs to reach achamber with more vending machines. This is the last chance to resupplybefore the boss fight, so make sure your ammunition and health are atmax capacity.

The Boss Fight: Core Observer

The boss encounter at the end of the Black Line Bunker is a test ofmovement and accuracy. The boss, the Core Observer, is a floating,mechanical enemy. The most effective way to deal with it is toconstantly stay in motion, gliding and strafing from left to right. This makes it difficult for the boss to land its attacks, particularly itsdangerous beam. You can also use the various objects in the room astemporary cover, though staying on the move is the most reliabledefensive strategy.

The Core Observer has a distinct critical weak spot, a glowing eye at its center. Hitting this spot is crucial fordealing significant damage, but its constant movement makes it achallenging target. Using a sniper rifle or another high-accuracy weapon can be a huge advantage, especially when the boss is momentarily still.

Be prepared for the boss to summon smaller enemies during the fight. While they are not as tough as the main boss, they can quickly overwhelm youif you don't take them out. In the second phase, the boss will activate a powerful beam attack. The key to surviving this is to maintain yourdistance and continue to aim for critical hits.

Loot and Resetting

After successfully defeating the Core Observer, you will be rewarded with avariety of random loot, including weapons, ammunition, healing items,and grenades. While legendary items are not a guaranteed drop, thebunker is an excellent location to farm for rare gear.

For thosewho want to farm the boss for better loot, you can reset the encounter.By heading to the south side of the bunker, you can use a teleport point to return to the beginning, allowing you to re-engage the boss. Don'tforget to check all the chests and containers you pass along the way, as they may contain useful items.

When you are finished, use theelevator to exit the bunker safely. Be aware that some players havereported glitches when accessing the menu near the elevator, so it'sbest to save before trying to exit.
