How to Get Unlimited Gold in Baldur's Gate 3

Gold is undeniably valuable in Baldur's Gate 3. While powerful items can be found throughout the world, some of the best gear in the game is sold by vendors. The rarer and more potent an item, the higher its price. Although gold isn't incredibly scarce, accumulating enough funds for significant purchases can be a hassle, especially in the early stages of the game.Fortunately, a clever exploit exists in Baldur's Gate 3 that allows players to generate essentially unlimited gold. All you need is a Level 3 Warlock built in a very specific way. Here's how to do it.

How to Get Infinite Money in Baldur's Gate 3

This exploit leverages the Hexblade Warlock's "Bind Hexed Weapon" action to repeatedly sell a bound weapon to vendors. The "Bind Hexed Weapon" ability normally ensures that the bound weapon cannot leave the Warlock's inventory. However, there's a workaround to this restriction, allowing for continuous sales.Important Note: As of recent patches (such as Patch 8 as referenced in search results), this specific exploit involving the Hexblade Warlock's Bind Hexed Weapon still appears to be functional. However, game exploits can be patched at any time, so its continued viability is subject to future game updates.

Steps to Execute the Exploit:

Equip Any Weapon: Equip any weapon on your Hexblade Warlock character.

Use Bind Hexed Weapon: Activate the Bind Hexed Weapon action on the equipped weapon.

Barter with a Vendor: Initiate a trading interaction with any vendor.

• Crucially, you must use the "Barter" mode, not "Trade." To switch between these modes, look for the toggle button at the top of the vendor's menu when buying or selling items.

Place a Random Weapon: Place any other random weapon (not the bound one) from your inventory into your side of the Barter menu.

Drag Over Bound Weapon: Click and drag that random weapon over your currently equipped and bound Hexed weapon. This action is key to bypassing the inventory restriction.

Balance Offer and Barter: Click on "Balance Offer" and then "Barter" to "sell" your bound weapon.

Exploiting the Loop:

• Bound Hexed weapons will not disappear from the Barter menu after being "sold" using this method. This means you can continue tosell the same bound weapon repeatedly until the vendor runs out of gold.
• Once a vendor depletes their gold reserves, simply take a Long Rest to replenish their inventory and gold.
• Repeat this process as many times as needed to acquire all the gold you desire.

Optimizing Your Gains:

• This method works for any weapon that has a gold value. Be aware that Pactbound weapons from the Pact of the Blade are worth 0 Gold and cannot be sold using this exploit. Interestingly, the "Shadow Blade" spell-summoned weapon can be sold for 30 Gold.
• Ideally, you should bind an expensive weapon (such as the Everburn Blade) to your Warlock. This reduces the numberof times you need to repeat the selling process compared to using acheaper weapon, as each sale yields more gold.

Bonus: Increasing Vendor Favorability:

Since the bound weapon never truly leaves your Warlock's inventory, you canalso use this exploit to easily raise a vendor's favorability towardsyou. Simply keep "donating" your bound weapon without requesting anygold in return. Increasing a vendor's favorability will lead to largerdiscounts on items you purchase from them – though with infinite gold,this might become a moot point!
