To start, people are confused because, in contrast to other games, there are no easy ways to modify your character's name while playing. To make these adjustments, you'll need to get down and dirty beneath the hood. Anyway, to change your character's name in the save file, just follow these simple steps:
- Put an End to It: Before you save the file and try to alter it, make sure ATLYSS isn't operating.
- Retrieve the Game Data: Navigate to the Steam library. Select "Browse Local Files" from the context menu of the ATLYSS icon to access the game root directory.
- Find the "Save File:" path. See the "ATLYSS_DATA" folder in the game's folder. Get inside and find the "profileCollections" directory.
- Locate the Save File for Your Character There is a slot for each save file:
- Slot 1 is "0" in the file.
- File with "1" is in Slot 2.
- Navigate to the Save File: Choose "Open with Notepad" (or another text editor) from the context menu when you right-click on the appropriate save file. Find the line that begins with "nickName" and read it. Put in the name you choose for your character instead of the default.
- Keep Your Modifications: When you're ready to save and relaunch the game, hit Ctrl + S.
- Your character should now have the revised name when you enter Atlyss, thanks to the changes made.
