I entered the full release of Amanda the Adventurer 2 with (what I thought was) unshakeable confidence after completing this puzzle on June 10, 2024, for the demo. After perusing the message that Sofie had left at the front desk of the Kensdale Public Library, I assumed that this would be just another simple, five-minute puzzle. No, I'm completely mistaken. I wasted a lot of time trying to open these annoying bike locks. Nobody was able to help, not even my relatives. At one point, I thought I heard the creature within the Library's walls laughing at me.
However, I would not give up easily. Thank you, carbohydrates, since after one pasta bake I had my "aha!" moment. In Sofie's communication to Margret, I came to the realization that maybe just maybe she was onto something. How to open the bike lock in Amanda the Adventurer 2
In order to move on to the next puzzle and action in Amanda the Adventurer 2, you have to open the bike lock. Through the database of the Kensdale Public Library, you must track the trail of altered books using a predetermined combination and locate five volumes. Eventually, you'll reach a total of five novels. You can find the first one next to Sofie's note at the front desk.
To solve this riddle, you must find the books in a specific sequence. You will be given the fourth digit and instructed to use the database to learn the code as you locate each book.
To be honest, I'm embarrassed to admit how long I stared at the names before I figured out that "JP" (written inside Greg the Grape 2) was actually only a beginning point for the bike lock solution, even if it appeared as the first digit for the four-digit code. JP is not a numerical value. The second altered book can be found by using his initials instead. You then use the newly learned initials to find the next book, and so on, until you've found all five books that have been tampered with. Keep in mind that the bike lock requires the numbers that are printed inside each book.

- Initial: JP, MA, DS, CE, N/A
- Number: N/A, 5, 0, 1, 3
- Order: First, Second, Third, Fourth
This becomes the code 5 0 1 3 when we consider the list and the order. To access the first tape of Amanda the Adventurer 2, insert this into the bike lock located beneath the front desk computer (database). Keep this code handy for when you need to use it again.
