Discover All changes to Sonic x Shadow Generations with this excellent and explanatory detailed guide.
Remastered from Sonic Generations is Sonic x Shadow Generations. It includes several tweaks and additions to the original game, along with additional modes and material from SEGA.
Without paying close attention to some activities, cutscenes, and other details, it is difficult to discern what has been altered or added to the original. The most of the updates are minor, with the exception of the new mode and a handful of extra items scattered across the levels.
Sonic x Shadow Generations: All changes to
- Mode for the New Shadow Generations Story
- Things related to Chao
- Enhanced gameplay
- Enhanced cinematics
- Revised scenes and voice actors
Playing as Shadow through a new story while navigating through older stages is the most noticeable change to Sonic x Shadow Generations's story mode, Shadow Generations. We won't go into detail about this modification because it's quite clear; instead, we can point out a lot of other, more subtle alterations.
Progress on the Game
The following are a few of the most notable and impactful adjustments to the gameplay that have been implemented to enhance the overall experience.
- Each act now has three hidden Chao, expanding the number of collectibles throughout the game.
- You can now see the exact sequence in which Red Star Rings emerge as you gather them in-level. This is useful for keeping track of the number of Red Ring Stars you have collected so far and the number that are still to come.
- A Modern Sonic Adventure Skin, a Shadow skin inspired by the character's beta form, and Classic Legacy Sonic looks are the new skins that have been added.
- Drop Dash is a new move in the game that both Modern Sonic and Classic Sonic may use.
- (At long last!) fully customisable controls are now available.
Edited Scenes
Some portions of the script have been rewritten entirely, and there have been changes to multiple cutscenes. The following are examples of heavily altered situations from the original game that players will recall with fondness:
- Sonic no longer casually puts his hand to her face, and Amy instead gives him cupcakes as a gift.
- Unlike his original reaction, in which he would merely perform an erratic motion without speaking a word, modern Sonic will reply to his buddies after rescuing them from levels.
- Amy doesn't blast Knuckles into a tree in the last cutscene; she just pushes him back.
- Several cutscenes feature Chao.
Makeshift Voice Actors
While the remake features a plethora of voice actor alterations across languages, our attention will be drawn to the English and Japanese versions in particular.
- Colleen O'Shaughnessey has taken over for Kate Higgins as the new Classic and Modern Tails voice actor.
- Dave B. Mitchell has taken over for Travis Willingham as Knuckles' voice actor.
- Matthew Mercer has taken over for Troy Baker as Espio's voice actor.
- [ENG] Blaze and Omochao are now voiced by Erica Lindbeck instead of Laura Bailey.
- [ENG] Silver's voice actor Bryce Papenbrook has taken over for Quinton Flynn.
- It is Japanese. Kotaro Nakamura took over from Chikao Ōtsuka after Ōtsuka-san passed away in 2015 to voice Classic and Modern Eggman.
- I personally think it would have been better if the SEGA team had preserved Ōtsuka-san's voice for future admirers of the actor.
Content Eliminated
Although Sonic the Hedgehog's playable port is absent from the remake, the previously paid-for Casino Night DLC is now included in the full game. Taking out the original game's playable version makes logical, but this is still terrible.
We hope that the information detailed here about All changes to Sonic x Shadow Generations has been very useful for your fun and progress in this incredible adventure.
