How To Find the Hidden Cave Entrance in Absolum

The Mouldy Cave route is a secret third starting path in the Grandery region of Absolum. It is essential for players looking to gain a significant power advantage early on, specifically by acquiring two Inspirations before facing the Underking.This path is made available after a narrative event where Zafari or the Bandit Leader apologizes for a prior betrayal (often tied to the Stonedale Citadel questline).

Finding the Hidden Cave Entrance

The entrance is located right at the start of your run, but it's deliberately concealed.

• Start Your Run: Begin a typical run from the Sanctuary.
• Look Downward: Immediately instead of taking the usual top or bottom paths, walk downwards to the bottom-right of the screen.
• Reveal the Path: A hidden path will be revealed once you walk into this area.
• Break the Boulder: The path is initially blocked by a large boulder. Use a few hits (Light or Heavy attacks) to break it.
• Enter the Cave: Breaking the boulder opens the way, and you can now proceed into the Mouldy Cave area, which becomes your third possible starting route through the Grandery.

Benefits of the Mouldy Cave Route

The Mouldy Cave route is widely considered the default, optimal starting path for advanced players due to one major tactical advantage:

Extra Resources	The Mouldy Cave area is filled with opportunities to find loot and food items for mid-run healing and building up your gold and resource stash.
