This time we are back with a guide with the objective of explaining to you How to get Oil Shale in 7 Days to Die.
Oil Shale, and the pure Oil and Gas Can you can make from it are some of many resources you'll come across in 7 Days to Die. One of the best places to obtain Oil Shale is from within a Chemistry Station; you can use the Oil Shale to craft pure Oil and a Gas Can. Cooking an Oil Shale Boulder over a campfire also provides a skill bonus to Science.
The Asphalt, made by combining Oil Shale with Crushed Sand and Small Stone, has increased explosive resistance of ten percent over Cobblestone. Oil Shale in 7 Days to Die is hard to come by unless you know what you're doing, so I have compiled a few ways of developing it.
7 Days to Die: How to get Oil Shale
You will find Oil Shale at the Desert Biome. Look for the gas and chemistry stations, mining deposits, COC tanks, and the desert floor.
Whenever you will search these gas stations, make sure you check if there are nearby gas pumps, barrels, and jerry cans containing Oil Shale. You should always try to search for gas stations, although there are not many of them.
You can even find chemistry stations in the desert biome. While Oil Shale will populate the tables and barrels of Chemistry Stations, these are generally crawled with enough adversaries that they are less functional than other locations, unless you have a good deal of weaponry available to you.
Setting up a base near one such mining deposit of oil shale could be helpful to grow it for a pretty extended period. Mining deposits are one of the more reliable ways to get Oil Shale, but you'll need a pickaxe for this task. Apart from that, they pose less of a threat compared to Chemistry Stations.
There is oil shale twenty blocks down from the surface of the desert. If you try hard enough, you could search for some. Just note that being in the sun for such a long period of time dehydrates your character, which introduces more problems. It isn't exactly difficult to find Oil Shale this way, but it has its own challenges.
You can look for Oil Shale in COC Tanks at last, though this is less common as compared to high-risk Chemistry Stations and high-reward Mining Deposits, and you almost never find Oil Shale this way.
You can find it on the surface if you are a PC user by using Oil Shale. It looks like coal or flint, but it also can have a look of purple crystal. You can destroy a node, and it won't respawn in the same position because Oil Shale doesn't respawn.
How to Use Oil Shale
First, the fuel you have to make with 7 Days to Die, you're going to need 24 pieces of Oil Shale and an empty can to make Oil. Oil is a building block for other gasses and fuels. Some of the more efficient ways of sustaining power in 7 Days to Die are processing oil into fuel; hence, it is worth having a continual supply of Oil Shale.
So we come to the end of this explanatory guide, now you know How to get Oil Shale in 7 Days to Die, just do it and enjoy it to the fullest.
