You will encounter a wide variety of monsters throughout Hyrule and the surrounding land; some large enough to stomp you, others just annoying.

The Gerudo Desert is infamous for its pitiless dunes of sand and blistering heat, but most hazardous of all are the wild sandstorms kicked up by the Lanmolas. Defeat these monsters, and the storms will die down, allowing you to cross the desert safely. It's easy to take them down, once you know how. Here's how to do it.

How To Defeat The Lanmola in Zelda Echoes Of Wisdom

The Position of the Lanmola

As you cross the Gerudo Desert, a confusing sandstorm may come across. These storms are created by a huge centipede monster called the Lanmola.

Although there actually are three of them in the desert, you can access only two at the beginning of the game.

You need to defeat them, but their armors are impenetrable. Second, the sand they are standing on will turn into quicksand once you stand, hence, it is quite difficult to summon echoes and stand longer. Thankfully, there is a full-proof plan to kill them all.

Lanmola Sites and Techniques

For defeating Lanmola, we have segregated each location by providing various techniques.

To walk on the quicksand, make sure to get the Gerudo Sandals in Gerudo Town for 400 rupees.

You will notice a sandstorm brewing in the Western Lanmola to the east of the Gerudo town, in the middle of the desert. Northward, jump into the middle of it down until you notice a small spout of sand sticking up from the ground.

It will erupt as you approach, turning the land around it in an instant into quicksand. The fight starts when a gigantic red centipede suddenly appears.

There are small patches of sand you can stand on to avoid sinking.

Also, get Tri to coil around the centipede's tail and yank on it hard. That way, you'll be able to flip the centipede over and hit its belly. Change to swordsman form and go berserk!

Watch out for the boulders that the Lanmola throws; they can inflict quite a bit of damage.

Do this repeatedly until you defeat the centipede. bit by bit it will crush and leave a pretty nice amount of rupees.

The Lanmola in the East

There is a heavy sandstorm again blowing away at the eastern part of the Gerudo Desert, closer to the Hyrule Field. Go inside into it. Face off with an enormous green centipede.

Look out for wee fellas; they're just about to pop out everywhere!

There are fewer safe places to hang onto, but otherwise the strategy is the same. Standing on the sands will require that you keep moving. To find the centipede's weak spots, attach Tri to its rear and yank. This will roll it over.

Slice this beetle into tiny pieces with your sword and echoes. A batch of rupees and a couple monster stones will be its post-defeat treasure.

An Ending to Lanmola

After you defeat the first two Lanmola, the third and final one will appear. You also have to have sealed the rift in Hyrule Castle before you can unlock this quest. Enter the barracks west of the Gerudo Palace to speak with the guards. They will let you know about another Lanmola.

This one is to the east of Lanmola. Head there and get ready to battle this fearsome beast.

There are more enemies trying to slow you down than before, and this time, there are no safe sandy spots to rest.

Luckily, we can proceed with the same approach. Utilize your flying echoes, such as the crow or the Peahat, to grasp the tail of the blue centipede.

When the bug has been flipped over, get ready to break out all your swordfighting moves. You can do this until it explodes and then destroy the heart. Go back into the barracks and tell the guards you've won.

And with that, though utterly shocked, you know you've won. Facette rewards you with a golden sash so the wind does not whirl around you. What a payoff for all of your hard work!
