However, where faction rank is not a problem, you will need a certain in-game currency called Entrati Standing. 1000 Standing is needed for the blueprint of the core, and each component blueprint is 500 Standing. Since Karatinos has two blades and two gauntlets, the total needed amount of Standing will be 3000.
Now that you finally have the required Standing and all the blueprints, you can start crafting the parts that make up the completed Karatinos weapon.
Blades
20,000 Credits will need to be invested in its creation.
- The Adramal: Alloy is a resource that must be created. To do this, you will first need its blueprint, which is purchased from the mysterious Otak for the paltry sum of 1000 Standing. Note that you must have at least Neutral rank with the Entrati Syndicate to buy this. With blueprint in hand, you will need to gather the crafting materials: Adramalium, Travoride, Plastids, and a Lucent Teroglobe. You will need to craft a total of 40 units of this alloy.
- Pustulite: is another essential resource that has two ways of sourcing: from the imposing flora found in the Gambion Drift and earned as a reward upon completing specific missions. The quantity required will be 24 units of Pustulite.
- Purged Dagonic: comes next. Similar to the Adramal Alloy, the blueprint is purchasable at Otak for 1000 Standing. In this case, you will need 6 units of Purged Dagonic.
- Gallium: will also be needed. You can mine this mineral off of the Martian and Uranian landscapes through exploratory missions. Bring in 4 units of Gallium to complete your resource gathering.
Gauntlets
While heading into this mission, you will need quite a large amount of material stock at hand. They include:
- You will need 20,000 Credits to fuel your Ambitions
- Ferment Bladder: This will require 20 of them that you can easily farm from fish taken from Deimos water bodies.
- Ganglion is another resource that you will need to farm from Haptic Frond plants native to the Gambion Drift. You will need 16 of these, which you can obtain through interaction with the plants. Some Bounties also have Ganglion as a possible reward.
- Waxen Sebum Deposit is a bit more rare but still one of the resources to be farmed. You need 6 of these and can farm them from Amniophysi fish. These fish reside in certain underwater hotspots inside caves within the Gambion Drift.
- Finallу, you will need 4 Neurodes. These can be received as random drops from missions on Earth, Deimos, Eris, and Lua.
Gaining Entrati Standing
To gаin the standing with the Entrati, locаte Grаndmother withinthе Necrаlisk. Shе is in chаrgе of its trаding of diffеrеnt Tokens to еntrants of the fаction. Thеsе Tokеns are rеceived throigh doing of various tаsks for Entrаti fаmily.
To farm Standing fast, focus on Bounties in the Gambion Drift. The Entrati member known as Mother will reward many Mother Tokens when a mission is completed.
All of the Entrati live in The Necralisk and have missions unique to them that grant resources which can be converted into Tokens upon completion. Deimos will also provide activities to give extra Tokens.
You can work your way up the ranks, earning prizes hidden within, by strategically taking advantage of the Entrati and what they have to offer.
- Mother Tokens: All of these are picked up when you complete bounties on the Cambion Drift for Mother. Each such token is worth 100 Standing points.
- Father Tokens: Gather resources on the Cambion Drift and exchange them with Father in the Parts Requisition option to get Father Tokens in return. Each token will be worth 100 Standing.
- Daughter Tokens: Go fishing on the Cambion Drift with the appropriate fishing spear to collect Daughter Tokens, worth 100 Standing apiece.
- Son Tokens: Preserve animals on the Cambion Drift. Be sure to bring along your conversation gear. Each Son Token represents a full 500 Standing.
- Otak Tokens: Trade in gems and alloys you've mined for Otak Tokens. These are worth 100 Standing a token.
- Generic Grandmother Tokens: Trade a combination of the other tokens to Grandmother for Grandmother Tokens. These are the most valuable, at 1500 Standing each.
Once you have enough Entrati Standing, go to Father/Vicor with your Standing to buy blueprints.
Suggested build
The Keratinos is a Slash damage–specialized weapon, taking a powerful stance in Vermillion Storm. What's particularly remarkable in this case are the heavy attacks, featuring a number of forced Slash procs that end in a powerful charge for 500% damage and another Slash proc, finally causing Bleed. This makes Keratinos especially fit for Combo Meter gain builds, focusing on using heavy attacks quickly to maximize damage output.
This weapon's intrinsic Viral damage matches well with its high Slash proc rate. Furthermore, when the Combo Counter is at maximum, a heavy attack gives a three-minute attack range increase, which is a rather substantial increase. This was a forerunner to the really clever Incarnon weapon concept. A base build including Condition Overload, Killing Blow, Organ Shatter, and Sacrificial Steel with North Wind and Fever Strike to further enhance Virals is a good place to start. More optimization can be done such as taking more resources into Heavy Attack stats or further extending the already impressive range of the weapon.
The Keratinos is a very balanced damage, crowd control, and utility weapon that can be played versatilely among players gunning for a high-damage, melee-focused playstyle. What makes it fresh and relevant against the newer, more complex weapon systems is the unique mechanics and customization potential it has.
