Unlock Khazan’s full potential by mastering Vengeance Points and collecting all Netherworld Energy upgrades.
The First Berserker: Khazan introduces a unique combat mechanic called Vengeance Points, a hidden system that enhances Khazan’s abilities in battle. By collecting Netherworld Energy upgrades, players can increase their maximum Vengeance Points, allowing for more devastating attacks and defensive maneuvers.
In this guide, we’ll cover everything you need to know about Vengeance Points, how to maximize them using armor sets, and the locations of all five Netherworld Energy upgrades in the game.

What Are Vengeance Points?

Vengeance Points are a hidden combat resource that empower Khazan’s abilities. The more Vengeance Points you have, the stronger your special attacks and defensive counters become. By default, players start with a limited number, but this can be expanded by finding Netherworld Energy upgrades hidden throughout the game.

How to Increase Your Maximum Vengeance Points

  • The base maximum Vengeance Points can be increased up to 8 by collecting all five Netherworld Energy upgrades.
  • Wearing the Ashen Wolf Set (craftable at the Blacksmith) or the Fallen Star’s Set (pre-order bonus) grants an additional +1, raising the cap to 9.
    • Note: You must equip all five pieces of the armor set to receive the bonus.
Now, let’s dive into the locations of all five Netherworld Energy upgrades.

All Netherworld Energy Upgrade Locations

1. Forgotten Temple (Embars Ruins)

Mission: Third Main Mission
Nearest Blade Nexus: Forgotten Temple Entrance
  • Progress through the mission until you reach the Forgotten Temple Entrance.
  • Climb the stairs into a large hall where you’ll encounter Dragonkin enemies for the first time.
  • Defeat the three enemies worshiping the remains of a Dragonkin hanging from the ceiling.
  • Take the right staircase, then immediately turn right through a small gate.
  • Eliminate the two Dragonkin archers, then drop down near the Bard NPC.
  • Turn around and head left—you’ll find the Netherworld Energy upgrade alongside an Earth Enhancer.

  • 2. Strange Stench (Skoffa Cave)

    Nearest Blade Nexus: Collapsed Mine

  • From the Collapsed Mine Nexus, head straight toward the ladder and climb up.
  • Watch out for bats that try to knock you off.
  • Walk along the wooden beam and drop onto a wooden plank with spiders.
  • Clear the spiders, then proceed forward to another wooden beam.
  • Climb up while avoiding more bats, then deal with a second group of spiders.
  • When you encounter a third wave of bats, turn left to find the Netherworld Energy upgrade.
  • 3. Devoured Village (El Ravaca Village)

Nearest Blade Nexus: Underground Water Facility

  • From the Underground Water Facility Nexus, descend the ladder.
  • (Optional) Ignore the Revenant Devourer and take the next ladder into a tunnel.
  • Exit the tunnel and unlock the shortcut to the Blade Nexus.
  • Head left through spider-infested rooms until you find another ladder.
  • Climb up into a new tunnel and stick to the left wall.
  • Enter a room with two spiders—the Netherworld Energy upgrade is near a Lightning Enhancer.
  • 4. Atlante the Precise (Wastus Canyon)

    Nearest Blade Nexus: Destroyed Ruins

  • After speaking to Bellerian, proceed forward.
  • Defeat an Undead Renowned Warrior’s Shadow and its elite variant.

    • Tip: Attack them again after they fall to prevent revival.
  • Continue forward until you spot a vase—the Netherworld Energy upgrade is right beside it.
  • 5. The Vow (Great Temple Underground Ruins – Bonus Mission)

    Nearest Blade Nexus: Forbidden Passage

  • Progress through the Bonus Mission until reaching the Forbidden Passage Nexus.
  • Follow the main path until encountering an elite enemy—defeat it.
  • Open the door ahead, then turn left and continue until a path split.
  • Ignore the left path and go right, entering a room with empowered enemies.
  • Clear them out, then proceed forward—the fifth Netherworld Energy upgrade is at the end of the path.
  • Maximizing Your Vengeance Points

    • With all five upgrades, your base maximum increases to 8.
    • Equip the Ashen Wolf Set or Fallen Star’s Set for an extra point (total of 9).
    • Higher Vengeance Points allow for stronger special attacks, counters, and survivability in tough fights.

    Final Tips

    • Explore thoroughly—some upgrades are hidden off the main path.
    • Use armor sets wisely—if you don’t have the pre-order bonus, craft the Ashen Wolf Set.
    • Revisit areas if you missed an upgrade—Blade Nexus fast travel makes backtracking easy.

By collecting all Netherworld Energy upgrades, you’ll unlock Khazan’s full Vengeance potential, making you unstoppable in battle.
