How to Fix Front Door in Tales of the Shire

At the start of your journey in Tales of the Shire, you are greeted by Gandalf at your new home in Bywater. However, you quickly discover that your hobbit hole is in a state of disrepair, with the front door blocked by debris. To truly settle in and make the space your own, you need to clear the entrance and unlock a home expansion.This guide will show you how to fix the front door in Tales of the Shire by befriending the right character and completing a short quest.

Tales of the Shire: How to Fix Front Door

The key to fixing your front door is to forge a strong friendship with one of the local hobbits, Willow Took. She is the village's carpenter and can be found at her workshop near the southern end of the map.

Step 1: Raise Your Friendship Level with Willow Took to Level 3

• Befriending Villagers: In Tales of the Shire, you can raise your friendship levels with the named characters of Bywater. Reaching certain milestones with each character unlocks special rewards, gifts, and quality-of-life features.
• Willow's Offer: When you reach Friendship Level 3 with Willow Took, she will offer to help you by clearing the debris blocking your home's main entrance.
• Shared Meals: The most effective way to raise your friendship with a character is by inviting them to Shared Meals. The amount of friendship you gain depends on how well you satisfy their cravings and the quality of the ingredients you use. It may take anywhere from two to four Shared Meals to reach Level 3 with Willow.

Step 2: Check Your Mailbox for a Letter

• Friendship with Willow Tale: The day after you reach Friendship Level 3 with Willow, check the mailbox outside your home. You will find a letter inviting you to her workshop for a special chat. This letter initiates the "Friendship with Willow" tale.
• Track Her Down: Use your map to find Willow's current location and go talk to her. She will express her desire to help you feel more at home and offer to clear your front entrance.

Step 3: Talk to Willow to Open the Front Door

• Free Service: Getting Willow to fix your front door is completely free. Her service is a reward for your friendship.
• The Big Reveal: Once you exit her dialogue, the front entrance of your home will be completely cleared.
• Home Expansion: As a bonus, clearing the front entrance also unlocks an entirely newwing of your hobbit hole, giving you a spacious front room with afireplace to decorate.

Now that your front door is fixed and your home has expanded, you can begin the fun of decorating andmaking it a true hobbit home.
