• Option 1: Purchase from Orlaith
  • After you land on the beach at the end of the Prologue with Arthur, your primary quest will direct you towards the Horns of the South castle.
  • Once you arrive at the castle, locate the merchant Orlaith, who is typically found just beside the main gate.
  • You can purchase a Pickaxe from her for 16 Coins.
• Option 2: Free Acquisition near Horst
  • Alternatively, there's a way to get a Pickaxe without spending a single Coin.
  • As soon as you land on the beach at the start of the game, follow the road until you reach a fork.
  • Take the right path and continue heading forward until you find an NPC named Horst, who is actively mining a giant collapsed statue of King Arthur.
  • Just next to Horst, you'll spot a mining cart with a Pickaxe inside. You can simply take it. Since it doesn't count as stealing, you won't have to worry about Horst (or any other NPC) turning hostile.

You only need one Pickaxe in your inventory to begin mining ore.
