How to Get Gold Fast in Tainted Grail The Fall of Avalon

Even in the grim, plague-stricken lands of Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon, gold reigns supreme as the primary currency. Without actively engaging in quests or other tasks, players often find themselves in perpetual financial struggle. Gold is indispensable for both purchasing and upgrading gear, and both can be prohibitively expensive. Fortunately, there's a way to significantly boost your coin purse, transitioning from rags to riches with a bit of effort and, for one method, a good deal of patience.

Tainted Grail The Fall of Avalon: Get Gold Fast

In the early game, the most reliable way to acquire gold is by selling food. You can approach this traditionally by buying low and selling high, or, if your character is leaning towards a mage build, you can employ a highly effective "cheese" method.

Prerequisites for Efficient Food Selling:

Before you begin, ensure your character has invested points in the Practicality stat. Specifically, you should have maxed out the Mercantile Skills, Side Dish Mastery, and Reusable Resources skills within the Practicality → Crafting & Trading skill tree.

Early Game Food Selling Strategy:

Acquire Ingredients: Visit the kitchen in the Horns of the South Keep. Engage with the cook there and, if prompted, ensure you express your desire to learn how to cook so they will sell you ingredients. Purchase every ingredient they have available.

Head to a Campfire: Go to the campfire located outside the Keep and interact with it.

Cook or Combine: You have two main options:

• Cook using known recipes: Prepare meals for which you already possess the recipes.
• Combine random ingredients: Throw random ingredients together. While you'll frequently end up with "Undercooked Food," this method also offers a chance to accidentally cook proper meals you don't yet know. Successfully doing so will permanently unlock that recipe.

Sell for Profit: After cooking, sell all the food you've prepared back to the kitchen for a decent profit.

The "Cheese Method" for Infinite Gold (Requires Specific Build)

This method has more stringent requirements, demanding either a level 20+ character specialized in Spirituality and Practicality or a level 10+ character with a substantial supply of Origin Potions to burn through. Regardless, investment in Practicality is essential for this method to be profitable.

Core Requirements:

Rumpolt's Revenge Spell:

• This spell allows you to transform targets into cheese.
• To obtain it, complete Orlaith's questline. You can find Orlaith at her stall near the Horns' front gate during the daytime.
• Completing her quests will lead you to the dungeon underneath the Ruined Broch,where you'll encounter Rumpolt. Finish his quest to be rewarded with the "Rumpolt's Revenge" spell.

Minion Summoning Spell:

• "Rumpolt's Revenge" works on friendly units, meaning you can turn any summoned creature into cuts of cheese.
• Two suitable summoning spells in Act 1 are:
  • Wolf's Call: Found in the Miner's Tunnels northeast of the Blood Lake. Inside the mine, look for a hole leadingto an underground lake. Swim to the other side and search the area for a crate containing the spell.
  • Skeleton Army: Dropped by the Necromancer in the Ancient Crypt.

Sufficient Mana Pool:

• Thismethod consumes a fair bit of mana. It takes approximately eight seconds of continuous channeling to transform a wolf summoned by "Wolf's Call"into cheese.
• Depending on your Spirituality stat, you'll need at least 80 mana for the channeling, plus an additional 10-20 mana to account for the cost of summoning and maintaining your minions.

Executing the Cheese Method:

Once all requirements are met, simply summon a minion.

Immediately cast Rumpolt's Revenge on your summoned minion and channel it until it transforms.

Each sacrificed minion will yield approximately a dozen pieces of cheese.

You have two options for selling the cheese:

• Sell as-is: Each piece of cheese can be sold for roughly 3 Gold.
• Cook into "Cheese Balls of Doom": If you have the recipe, cooking the cheese into "Cheese Balls of Doom" can sell for anywhere between 19-40 Gold per piece, depending on your Practicality stat and the quality of the cheese produced.

This "cheese method" issomewhat time-consuming due to the channeling, but it offers a far moreconsistent and self-sustaining gold income compared to simply sellingrandom cooked food. Crucially, it requires no initial capital investment in ingredients, as you're converting your mana into gold.
