As you inquire around the village, your search will lead you to Ellis, a character marked on your map. Ellis possesses a rough past, tainted by his involvement with a group of thieves and the crafting of jewelry from stolen goods. Despite this history, Ellis is portrayed as a true artist who deeply misses his craft of goldsmithing.

"As Good As Gold" Quest in Tainted Grail Walkthrough

This adventure centers around therestoration of a unique necklace and the opportunity to help a character rediscover their passion.

Initiating the Quest: The quest begins when you overhear Elaine, a kind woman, discussing a necklace of great significance to her. Itwas a gift from Lady Kincaid, but its chain is broken. She mentionshaving left it with the local blacksmith, Osprit, and asks you to check on its repair status.

Consulting Osprit: Head to Osprit, the blacksmith. He will inform you that while he excels atforging swords and armor, delicate jewelry repair is not his forte. Heexpresses concern that he might damage the precious necklace further ifhe attempts to fix it. Osprit will then hand the necklace back to youand suggest asking around the village to find someone more skilled insuch intricate repairs.

Meeting Ellis: This is where your path crosses with Ellis, the goldsmith with a shadowed past but an undeniable love for his work. When you present him with the broken necklace, it becomes evident thatgoldsmithing is a craft he deeply cherishes. He meticulously repairs the necklace with care and then returns it to you, perfectly restored.

Returning to Elaine:Bring the repaired necklace back to Elaine. She will be utterly amazedand impressed by the quality of the repair. So impressed, in fact, thatshe offers to write a letter of recommendation forEllis, proposing that he become a blacksmith's apprentice under Osprit.This arrangement would allow Ellis to continue pursuing his belovedcraft, while Osprit gains a capable assistant.

Finalizing the Arrangement: Your final step is to present Elaine's letter of recommendation to the Quartermaster. Upon reviewing the letter, the Quartermaster will agree to thearrangement, solidifying Ellis's new purpose and strengthening thecommunity's resources.
