We have made a detailed guide to explain to you How To Enable Remote Play On Steam Deck.
The portability of the Steam Deck is its main selling feature: a portable gaming system with access to a large library of verified games. With the correct software, this ingenious device may double as a desktop, thus expanding its usefulness.
You won't have any problems running even the most demanding Triple-A games on the Steam Deck. Not only that, but the Steam Deck's mobility extends beyond only its handheld mode. With the option to play it remotely on a PC screen, the system becomes more user-friendly in terms of interoperability.
The Steam Deck simply can't live without the NonSteamLaunchers plugin, and that's acquired through Decky Loader. You won't be finding the Decky Loader in the Steam Deck Quick Access Menu anymore because the latest update broke the software. Restoration instructions for Decky Loader join this updated tutorial.
How To Enable Remote Play On Steam Deck?
For people who would not want to play their games on the go, Steam Deck's remote play functionality is a godsend. However, there are some restrictions to how one can play remotely, and whether or not it works depends on the player's Wi-Fi connection and their computer's power.
Following these steps will enable gamers to play Steam Deck remotely, provided they have a stream-capable PC, a good internet connection, and a tolerable router:
- Opening Steam on PCs
- Have Steam downloaded on your PC.
- Start the Steam client.
- From within the Steam client, click on Settings.
- Select Remote Play.
The Steam Deck can also run Xbox Cloud, though it takes some work to get it up and running. Here's how it's done.
- Make sure the box is checked in order to enable remote play.
- Under the Device Name section, ensure it reads "Steam Deck if it is enabled.
- Under the client options, you will select an option between fast and balanced streaming on this PC. Opting for fast is an intelligent choice for users who aren't so sure about their connections and their PC.
- Click on Advanced Host Options.
- Check "Change Desktop to match the streaming client." This will ensure that your computer won't have any wacky upscaling issues and will always match the same resolution as the Steam Deck.
- For those with high-end routers, where you're able to prioritize network traffic, make sure you enable the "Prioritize network traffic" check box.
- Make sure the Number of software encoding threads is set to Automatic.
- Press OK to confirm the changes.
Advanced PC Settings
- From the Steam application in your computer, select the Settings.
- Under Remote Play, highlight it.
- Activate the Advanced Host Settings.
- Disable Nvidia GPU NVFBC capture.
- Set the games to borderless fullscreen mode.
- Set the Sleep for the computer to sleep for a longer duration. Sometimes during remote game playing, computers might fall to sleep by accident.
Power up the Steam Deck.
- Simply press the Steam button.
- Scroll down and find Remote Play.
- Flip the switch next to Allow Remote GameStreaming.
- Under "Computers & Devices," your laptop or desktop should appear
- Flip the switch to On under Advanced Client Options.
- In the Video pull-down menu select Beautiful, Fast, or Balanced. For testing purposes of the stream, select Fast.
- Scroll down further and ensure both Framerate and Bandwidth Limiting are set to Automatic.
- Under Resolution Limit, everything from the default 480p all the way up to 8K is available to clients. For the time being, test out the lower resolutions.
- Not every game supports remote play, so be sure to look through the library before settling on a game to play.
This article will explain everything needed to do as a gamer who would like to run Amazon Games on the Steam Deck.
- You can play the game on the attached PC or laptop instead of just pressing the play button by using the dropdown arrow.
