Learn How To Add Non Steam Games On Your Steam Deck and expand your gaming experience like never before!

The Steam Deck is a revolutionary handheld gaming device that allows you to play all your favorite games on the go. In addition to the vast library of Steam games, the Steam Deck also allows you to add non-Steam games to your library. This means you can play all your favorite games, whether they are on Steam or not, on your Steam Deck.

In this guide, we'll show you how to add non-Steam games to your Steam Deck and play them seamlessly.

Launch the Steam Client on Your Steam Deck

Before we can start adding non-Steam games to our library, we need to launch the Steam client on the Steam Deck. To do this, simply click on the Steam icon on the home screen of your Steam Deck.

Select the "Add a Non-Steam Game to My Library" Option

Once you have launched the Steam client on your Steam Deck, you need to select the "Add a Non-Steam Game to My Library" option. This will allow you to add non-Steam games to your library.

To select this option, simply click on the "Library" tab in the Steam client and then click on the "+ Add a Game" button. From the dropdown menu, select the "Add a Non-Steam Game to My Library" option.

Add the Executable or .exe Files

After selecting the "Add a Non-Steam Game to My Library" option, you need to add the executable or .exe files to the library. This is what allows the Steam client to recognize the game and add it to your library.

To add the files, simply click on the "Browse" button and navigate to the folder where the game is installed. Once you have located the game's executable or .exe file, select it and click on the "Add Selected Programs" button.

If you are having trouble seeing any games, make sure to check that the folder containing the game's executable or .exe file is visible in the file explorer.

Adding Non-Steam Games from SD Card

In addition to adding non-Steam games from your computer, you can also add them from an SD card. To do this, simply insert the SD card into your Steam Deck and navigate to the folder where the game is stored.

Once you have located the game's executable or .exe file, follow the same steps as outlined in section IV to add it to your library.

Force Proton Compatibility

Some non-Steam games may not be fully compatible with the Steam client. To ensure compatibility, you can force Proton compatibility. Proton is a compatibility layer that allows Windows games to run on Linux-based systems.

To enable Proton compatibility, simply right-click on the game in your library, select "Properties", and then click on the "Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool" checkbox. From the dropdown menu, select the version of Proton you wish to use.

Play Non-Steam Games on Your Steam Deck

Now that you have added non-Steam games to your library, it's time to play them on your Steam Deck. To do this, simply select the game from your library and click on the "Play" button.

If you encounter any issues while playing the game, make sure to check the game's compatibility with the Steam client and Proton.

Adding non-Steam games on your Steam Deck is a simple process that allows you to enjoy your favorite games on the go. By following the steps outlined in this article, you can easily add non-Steam games to your library, enable Proton compatibility if necessary, and start playing your games on your Steam Deck. So go ahead and add your non-Steam games to your Steam Deck and enjoy gaming on the go like never before!
