Once you finish Forge of Progress, the assignment starts right away. After it's ready to go, go to the D1 hall. Proceed through the massive building by following the mission marks. When you get to the hall, head to the right, towards the southwest, and take the steps to the bottom. Something will lead you to a room. A cutscene involving your conversation with Dr. Dalin will be triggered by this.
Leave the room and go into the hallway as soon as it finishes. Go down to the basement by following the mission marker. On the ground, you can see two blue creatures bending over. Talk to both of them. A third figure will appear before you after you've interacted with the second one. An impending gunfight is imminent, so arm yourself before engaging with it.
Due to the potentially overwhelming quantity of adversaries, you must exercise extreme caution during the gunfight. Because to the terrain, take cover behind pillars or tiny platforms, and remember to heal up when you need to.
Go back up the stairs to Dalin's room; when you get there, you'll see him standing at the foot of the stairs leading to his old bedroom. Talk to him to get the lowdown on what went down there, and then move forward with the objective.
Then, leave the hall through the door to the east and follow the task marker to the projection room. Enter the room labeled B2 that is on your right as you exit the door. From there, take the stairs to room C1 and continue straight ahead. Now a short film will play.
Locate Professor Hermann, who is bound to a chair, and decide what happens to him. Leaving him alive has unknown consequences at the moment, but killing him will remove him from later campaign events. You will need to have a chat with Agatha when you choose a decision, and then you must go to the facility's cryptobiology lab.
Step outside the building and follow the marker to the lab, which is located in a building towards the compound's eastern end. Go inside, and then take a left and a right to reach a room with lockers. Downstairs, through the open door, you will find the marker.
Find Dubny in the room's middle and have a conversation with him. Take note that in this case, a decision is required whenever the choices "I'm with you" or "I'm with the Ward" appear. The mission objectives for both paths are listed here, and your choice determines how the mission ends.
In order to access the area with numerous hostiles that must be defeated, choose "I'm with you" from the menu that appears. This door is located behind Dubny. After that, get to X11, where you'll encounter Strider, by following the path indicated by the signpost.
