If you look at the bottom left of the screen you will notice what I am talking about, the preferred name that you are given in the game will appear and to change it you must click on the pencil icon at the bottom of the screen. You will see a message to write your name.

When you play online, your PSN or Steam User ID becomes your pilot name in Star Wars Squadrons. Knowing this if you still want to change the name, you must go to the customization screen. Go to the last options and choose the name of your choice

Focusing on battleships, players care the most about a strong ship with durability and speed that will take you far into battle. Boat customization allows you to add and remove parts.

You cannot add a lot of things as it will directly affect the flight speed. The goal should be to build a vehicle with high speed, medium durability, and good firepower.
