Mission 2 of Sniper Elite Resistance breaks from the linear structure of the first mission, granting players greater freedom in exploring the environment and tackling objectives. A key early objective involves infiltrating the Basilica Church and locating a hidden dead drop left by a Nazi informant known as Vertigo. This guide provides a detailed walkthrough to help you find the dead drop and complete this initial objective.
Find Vertigo's Dead Drop At Basilica in Sniper Elite Resistance
Mission Start and Church Infiltration:
Upon starting Mission 2: Dead Drop, you'll find yourself in the city with the Basilica Church clearly visible. Unlike the previous mission, you are not guided by explicit objective markers. Finding Vertigo's dead drop relies on your own exploration and observation. The church offers multiple entry points; choose the one that best suits your playstyle and current situation. Inside the church, you'll encounter several collectibles, but your primary focus should be locating the dead drop.
Navigating the Church and Reaching the Bell Tower:
- Eliminate Initial Threats: Upon entering the church, you'll encounter a few enemies patrolling the ground floor. Silently eliminating these guards will make your exploration significantly easier. Given their proximity, stealth melee takedowns are preferable to using a silenced pistol, which could alert other enemies.
- Ascend to the Second Floor: Once the initial guards are dealt with, proceed to the second floor via one of the staircases. Near one of the staircases, you can find the Basilica Vestry Safe Key on a table. This key unlocks a safe upstairs containing a collectible note.
- Secure the Collectible (Optional): On the second floor, locate the safe and use the Vestry Safe Key to open it and retrieve the collectible note.
- Access the Bell Tower: From the second floor, continue forward and turn right to find a stairway leading to the Basilica Church's bell tower.
Locating Vertigo's Dead Drop:
- Eliminate the Sniper: Upon reaching the bell tower, your first priority should be eliminating the sniper positioned on the balcony. Taking out this sniper not only clears a significant threat but also facilitates a less risky escape from the church later.
- Discover the Hidden Compartment: After neutralizing the sniper, turn your attention to the right side of the bell tower. You'll notice a painting on the wall. Interact with this painting.
- Retrieve the Dead Drop: Interacting with the painting will reveal a hidden compartment behind it. This compartment contains Vertigo's Dead Drop, completing the objective.

- Stealth is Key: Prioritize stealth throughout your infiltration of the church. Avoid open combat whenever possible to minimize the risk of being detected.
