To unlock "The Fox's Wedding" ending, you must first have access to a specific save file or start a new playthrough. It is recommended that you complete the game at least once before attempting this, as you will need to revisit a late-game section.The best way to do this is by loading a manual save file from the "Chase after Fox Mask" objective in the Main Hall, right before the Sakuko boss fight. Alternatively, you can start a new playthrough. A new playthrough is often the best option, as it allows you to get all the Jizo statues and access multiple endings from a single save.

The Sacred Sword and the Fox's Wedding

While you can technically get "The Fox's Wedding" ending without theSacred Sword, collecting and purifying it is a part of the extendedpuzzle that also leads to the "Ebisugaoka in Silence" ending. It's agood idea to complete this optional step as it ties into the lore andopens up another ending for you to explore.

How to Find the Heritage of Crimson Water

The entrance to the secret Heritage of Crimson Water is hidden in the Main Hall. To find it, you need to follow a specific path:

• Enter the Main Hall: Go to the Main Hall after completing the "Chase after Fox Mask" objective.
• Go to the South-East Corner: Head to the south-east corner of the Main Hall. A four-legged monsterwill spawn here, so be prepared to either fight or avoid it.
• Find the Fox Shrine: Go to the upper section of the Main Hall and pass the Fox Shrine where a disturbing cutscene took place earlier.
• Enter the Secret Area: Defeat the monsters you encounter upstairs. After they are dealt with,you can use the Focus feature one last time to enter the Heritage of Crimson Water.

Inside this secret location, you will find the Agura no Hotei-sama vial, also known as the "Hotei-sama Sitting Cross-legged" medicinebottle, on a table inside the only building in the area. This is a keyitem for the ending.

Crimson Water Puzzle Solution (Lost in the Fog Difficulty)

Before leaving the Heritage of Crimson Water, you must complete a puzzle tomake your fate on the "Fox's Wedding" path permanent. This puzzleinvolves a series of bells that you must ring in the correct order.

The puzzle is located on a stone across the northern bridge. All around you are five bells that you can ring. The puzzle is audio-based, and youmust ring one bell for every shishi-odoshi strike you hear. The shishi-odoshi will strike three times, so you will ring three bells.

The solution for the Crimson Water puzzle on the Lost in the Fog difficulty is to interact with the bells that correspond to the following symbols in order: Mountain, Water, and Tree.

• Mountain: "Trapped under a great stone"
• Water: "In the lake's abyss"
• Tree: "Once lush great tree has met a withering fate"

You will know you have completed the puzzle correctly when Hinako's journal updates and the map of the Heritage of Crimson Water becomesblood-soaked. This puzzle is also a prerequisite for the "Ebisugaoka inSilence" ending.

Purifying the Sacred Sword

After completing the puzzle, your map of Ebisugaoka will also becomeblood-soaked, just north of where the fifth Jizo statue is located. This indicates the location of a cleansing pool where you can purify theSacred Sword.

• Head to the Cleansing Pool: Navigate your way to the north of the fifth Jizo statue. You will see a cleansing pool of blood at the Oinari-sama.
• Cleanse the Blade: Go up to the pool of blood and hold the interact key to cleanse theSacred Sword. This will make the sword shine with a new, powerful light.

While this purification step is optional for the "Fox's Wedding" ending, itis a crucial part of the process for the "Ebisugaoka in Silence" ending. By completing all these steps, you will be on the correct path tounlock "The Fox's Wedding."
