How to forache for items in Project Zomboid?
The first thing you should do is activate "Investigate area", for this you will have to click on the spyglass icon, which will allow you to access a new overlay with the type of terrain, the position of the sun in the sky and a button with which you can activate the "Search mode". Enabling this mode will cause the screen to blur, except for a "Target Radius" around it that will increase in size as your search skill improves.
How to forache for items in Project Zomboid? - Search mode
This mode will make it so that as you walk, you will be able to see the items around you and as you get closer to the target radius distance of an item that you have enough level for, this will allow you to see an eyeball icon above you, which will allow you to locate yourself. You will be able to see the item icon as you get closer and when you get close enough you will receive an amount of XP.
To collect the item you will have to double-click on it, but if you right-click it will allow you to collect or discard it. You will receive an amount of extra XP no matter which option you choose.
The level of foraging will influence the amount of items you find, the higher the level, the more items you will find. But you should keep in mind that not all articles are related to nature. However, we still leave you a list with the items that you can find according to the level of food:
- Level 0-1 Gathering: Berries, Mushrooms, Junk Items, Chipped Stone, Stone, Tree Branch and others.
- Level 2 Foraging: Grape Leaves, Wild Vegetables, and Worms.
