We invite you to discover All Phasmophobia Ghost Movement Speeds with this excellent and explanatory guide.

Knowing how fast a ghost moves is half the fight if you're stuck dancing with it in Phasmophobia due to bad luck or goals. In Phasmophobia, different ghosts travel at different speeds, so here's all the information you need regarding that.

How to calculate the speed of a ghost in a phobia of spiders

Knowing the movement rates and distinctive mannerisms of the ghosts in Phasmophobia is vital to ensuring your survival. Or else you might get into trouble and not be able to evade a ghost or get to the hiding place (down below) in time. If you're having trouble gathering evidence, the ghost's speed can be a further clue.

Ghosts in Phasmophobia can range from very slow to very fast, and their pace might alter throughout a hunt based on the type of ghost, their characteristics, and their surroundings. Be aware that the majority of the game's ghosts use a conventional line-of-sight speed boost, meaning that they will constantly accelerate by a certain amount once they notice the player, regardless of the circumstances.

If you want to know how fast your enemy is moving, you should carry incense, locate a safe place to camp on the map, and wait until it's dark where you are. The more you lose your composure in the dark, the more aggressive and hungry the ghost will be. Keep an ear out for its footsteps once it does.

Planting Sound Sensors in the region allows your companions to listen to the van's movement pace, expanding your tactics in multiplayer games. If more people are listening, you'll be able to find it out faster.

Last but not least, here's a handy interactive cheat sheet detailing the movements and mannerisms of every ghost in Phasmophobia, made by SeverelyZero (and verified by Kinetic Games). If you want to know who's following your ghost as you listen for their footsteps, this will help.

Phasmophobia: All Ghost Movement Speeds

Each of the twenty-four ghosts in Phasmophobia falls into one of three main categories based on their base speed. Anything less than or more than the game's default movement speed of 1.7 m/s is characterized as "slow" and "fast" movement speed, respectively.

Ghosts are categorized as "slow" if their speed is less than 1.7 m/s, and "normal" if their speed is set at 1.7 m/s. Ghosts that are deemed "fast" can travel at speeds exceeding 1.7 m/s and pose the greatest danger.

When hunting, all ghosts will move 15% quicker regardless of type, behavior, or conditions if you're playing on a map set to Blood Moon weather (as seen above) from the 2024 Halloween event. Under these conditions, you will be unable to slow them down using any means at your disposal.

Ghost Speed and Range

  • Banshee, Demon, Goryo, Mare, Myling, Obake, Oni, Onryo, Phantom, Poltergeist, Shade, Spirit, Wraith, Yokai, Yurei: 1.7 m/s (constant speed)
  • Deogen: 0.4 - 3.0 m/s (faster when out of sight, slower when in sight)
  • Hantu: 1.44 - 2.7 m/s (faster in colder temperatures)
  • Jinn: 1.7 - 2.5 m/s (faster when breaker is on and player is in sight)
  • Moroi: 1.5 - 3.71 m/s (faster with lower sanity, fastest when in sight)
  • Raiju: 1.7 - 2.5 m/s (faster near electrical equipment)
  • Revenant: 1.0 - 3.0 m/s (slow until detecting player, speeds up to last known location)
  • The Mimic: Variable (changes every 30 seconds to 2 minutes)
  • The Twins: 1.53 - 1.87 m/s (alternates between speeds)
  • Thaye: 1.0 - 2.75 m/s (speeds up as it ages)

In terms of movement speed, the most challenging specters in phantom fear

Hello, Moroi!

The average sanity of the group or an individual player determines how fast a Moroi can move. With the maximum conceivable movement speed in the game (3.71 m/s), this ghost puts you in greater danger the lower it is.

A Moroi's hunting speed decreases in proportion to how high you maintain your sanity.

Revenant

When this specter finds its prey by sound, equipment, or line of sight it unleashes its terrible speed 3.0 m/s. Having buddies who are constantly chatting increases the likelihood that a player will be caught unawares by a Revenant.

It's theoretically impossible for players to outrun a ghost in Phasmophobia at 3.0 m/s, but if you're good at finding hiding places and breaking line-of-sight around corners, you might have a shot.

Hello, Jinn

The Jinn's normal movement speed is 1.7 m/s, however that's contingent upon the map breaker being disabled. Although keeping the breaker on can help you stay sane, it also increases a Jinn's movement speed to 2.5 m/s if it detects the player is in its line of sight.

Keeping the lights on could be a tough decision if you're dealing with a Jinn.

Dear Raiju,

The more electronic equipment you activate on-site, the more aggressive a Raiju becomes, making it one of the most active ghost types in Phasmophobia. In addition, it can search faster at 65% sanity and reach a maximum movement speed of 2.5 m/s while near a lot of that equipment.

Deogen, in

The Deogen is a ghostly prankster in Phasmophobia; your investigation will be over in the blink of an eye if you find yourself in an awkward situation while it hunts and aren't prepared. No matter where you are on the map, a Deogen will always be able to see you when you're hunting.

As if that weren't bad enough, a Deogen can traverse a lot of territory in a flash because to its top speed of 3.0 m/s. But if you're staring directly at it, the Deogen will slow down to 0.4 m/s, much like a deer in headlights.

Hello, Hantu!

Another ghost that might be difficult to deal with is the Hantu, particularly in snowy regions of the landscape. The reason behind this is that in colder regions, a Hantu's movement speed can reach 2.7 m/s. The fact that it keeps turning off the breaker adds insult to injury when dealing with it.

Methods for Facing Ghosts with Less Fear of the Dark

In Phasmophobia, you can slow down certain ghosts during hunts by employing various tricks. These methods can range from utilizing cursed artifacts, like the Monkey Paw, to using Incense to block hunts altogether or by changing a ghost's basic habits.

Keep in mind that these tactics won't work on maps with Blood Moon weather because ghosts will always be 15% faster.

Methods for reducing Hantu's speed

The most efficient method of adjusting the Hantu's speed is to turn on the generator, as it becomes faster in lower temperatures. If the Hantu wants to go faster, it will try to switch off the generator, but it will never succeed.

Methods for reducing Jinn's speed

Ironically, the Jinn poses the most threat while the breaker is active and the player is furthest away. Maintaining a safe distance from the Jinn will prevent it from pursuing you at high speed, but you can also think about turning off the breaker and using Sanity Medication and Firelights to offset your sanity drain.

Ways to ease up Raiju tackles phobias

If you activate any electrical equipment on the premises, the Raiju will travel faster than usual. To slow it down, switch off the equipment or remove it completely.

Strategies for Phasmophobia: Revenant Slowdown

Once a Revenant has caught you using one of three methods (sound, equipment, or line-of-sight), it can be quite tough to get away from it. But if you can use Incense (ideally tier 3) fast enough to dispel its scent and change your hiding place, a Revenant will move at a far slower pace.

The best way to reduce Moroi's speed

Because the Moroi's speed is totally dependent on Sanity, you'll need Sanity Pills to make them go slower. The player's sanity can be preserved by remaining in areas with light.

Methods to reduce Thaye's speed

Staying inside the ghost's designated room with Crucifixes and Incense (often called 'Smudges') until it aged long enough is one of the best ways to slow it down, as Thaye's speed slows with time.

We can conclude that knowing All Phasmophobia Ghost Movement Speeds is easier than thought, you just have to apply what is indicated to take advantage of this element of the game.
