How To Use Backpack in Peak

In PEAK, your backpack is an indispensable tool for survival. It enables you to carry essential items found on the island, including food, tools, and other supplies. However, utilizing the backpack effectively requires understanding its mechanics. This guide will walk you through how to find, equip, and use your backpack to ensure you remain well-prepared throughout your adventure.

How To Use a Backpack

Your backpack typically spawns directly in front of you when you crash on the island on the first day. To equip it:

• PC: Walk up to it and hold 'E', then select the "Wear Backpack" option.
• Xbox Controller: Hold 'X', move the left stick down to highlight "Wear Backpack," and press 'A' to put it on.

To interact with your backpack once equipped, simply interact with itagain (using 'E' on PC or 'X' on Xbox). When you open it, you'll see five distinct sections: two on each side, and one at the bottom marked with a backpack icon.

Important Operational Note: Whenever you wish to take items out of or store items into your backpack, you must first place the backpack on the ground.

Cautionary Advice: Be extremely careful when dropping your backpack, especially on slopes. If dropped on uneven terrain, it might roll away, becoming difficult or even impossible to retrieve. To pick it up, hover over the backpackicon with your mouse (PC) or use your controller to select it. If youare holding an item and want to store it, simply interact with thebackpack and place the item into any empty slot. The process for takingitems out is identical.

This mechanic means it's quite challenging to access crucial items while you are in the middle of a climb, as youcannot open your backpack mid-climb.

Weight and Stamina Impact: Keep in mind that carrying more items directly affects your stamina. Aheavier load translates to a faster stamina drain. If you notice yourstamina bar depleting rapidly due to excessive weight, it's wise toconsider dropping any non-essential items to conserve energy.
