Our guide today aims to explain to you How To Stun Enemies in Path of Exile 2.
Physical damage is the most straightforward damage type in Path of Exie 2, but it can also stun almost any enemy, including tough bosses. Stunning enemies is a bit different from other elemental ailments, having two different types of stuns that can occur for both players and enemies.
Stunning is the basis of many builds, as a fully stunned boss can't take any action for a moment, which opens them to your strongest attack without them having a chance. Learn about the amazing techniques that your enemies use and know how you can use them with style.
Understanding the Mechanics of Stunning in Path of Exile 2
Damage enemies and fill your Heavy Stun meter to unlock the possibility of stunning them. The Heavy Stun meter is the yellow bar on an enemy or boss that fills up when they take physical damage; the amount it fills depends on how much damage taken. A regular stun can be performed with any successful physical attack, based on the attacker's accuracy and the defender's evasion.
- Stun - A brief stop in whatever you are doing with a short recovery afterwards.
- Heavy Stun - Get completely knocked down and be unable to do anything for a few seconds after that.
Stunning can be caused by spells and ranged attacks, and almost all types of damage except damage over time count towards Heavy Stun.
When a regular stun hits an enemy, it will cause interruption of the current action and make them stagger. This is done more often with the usual smaller enemies rather than bosses. If the Heavy Stun meter fills up completely, that enemy or boss will go to the ground and take some time to get up again, as depicted by the draining yellow bar.
How To Stun Enemies in Path of Exile 2?
The amount of stunning done is directly related to the amount of damage caused to an enemy. Increasing your damage increases the possibility of stunning an enemy or building up heavy stun, and this applies to your skills as well. Many passive skills can increase Stun Buildup, and they often specifically target your Heavy Stun buildup since regular stuns do not build up in the same way.
To find these passives, navigate to the bottom left area of the passive skills menu. Immediately searching for "Stun" will make this process much more simple. Most magical weapons contain percentage bonuses that improve Heavy Stun buildup. These should be equipped when found. Relatedly, there are some bonuses that improve Stun Duration, which is an enemy's remaining time being incapacitated after a Heavy Stun has been applied.
This is all you need to know about How To Stun Enemies in Path of Exile 2, just apply this guide and you're good to go.
