Uncut Spirit Gems in Path of Exile 2 are similar to standard Uncut Skill Gems, except that they offer Persistent Skill Buffs instead of a Skill. How To Get More Uncut Spirit Gems in Path of Exile 2?
Places you can nearly guarantee Uncut Spirit Gem drops include three areas of Path of Exile 2: the Golden Tomb region in Act 2, the bosses in Act 1 and 3, and the Spirit-boosting bosses in Act 3. Each of these locations also has an item that raises your Max Spirit by 30, so you can make good use of those extra reserves in addition to dropping an Uncut Spirit Gem.
King in the Mists, the final boss of Act 1's "Ominous Altars" side quest, is probably where most people will get their first Uncut Spirit Gem. When you fight this boss for the first time, you can be sure he'll drop one. Find a hidden area in the zone of The Lost City in Act 2 that contains a Golden Tomb.
In Act 3, defeat The Bog Witch, Igdanduk, to receive additional Max Spirit as well as an extra Uncut Spirit Gem.
The drop chance is better than in other bosses for an Uncut Spirit gem, but is not guaranteed.
In addition to the one-time Spirit reward when initially uncovered, King in the Mists and Golden Tomb also always drop an Uncut Spirit Gem.
It has been brought to our attention that not every player has received the Uncut Spirit Gem or the consumable to increase Max Spirit that is supposed to be rewarded by The Golden Tomb. It appears this is a bug; if it happens to you, try entering a new instance of The Lost City and rediscovering the Golden Tomb sub-zone.
Raid Rares and Bosses to Increase Your Odds of Collecting Uncut Spirit Gems
Outside of these three guaranteed sources, uncut spirit gems can also drop from Rare and Boss monsters in Path of Exile 2. While technically every monster in the game is able to drop items like these, bosses and rares are more likely than regular or magic ones.
Farming Rares and Bosses is best done when you attack places two or four levels below than your current level. You will be dodging foes in a heartbeat, kill bosses and rares with ease, and finish the zone in record time by doing this. Although you will theoretically be able to get Uncut Spirit Gems quicker, the experience and item benefits will be terrible if you go more than four levels below your current level.
Keep in mind that environmental chests may also yield Uncut Spirit Gems, so make sure to loot all containers and chests on the path.
Excluding the enemies and the Golden Tomb mentioned above, the Uncut Spirit Gems hardly show up for the player through Acts 1 and 2. They do drop somewhat consistently from other sources in Act 3, Cruel difficulty, and the ending of PoE 2.
