How To Get Daedric Armor in Oblivion Remastered

Few armor sets in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion are as iconic and menacing as Daedric Armor. With its dark, spiked design and deep crimson accents, this heavy armor isn’t just visually striking—it’s also one of the strongest sets in the game. However, acquiring it isn’t easy. You’ll need to reach a high enough level and know where to look.
In this guide, we’ll break down the best methods for obtaining Daedric Armor, including where to find it, how to farm it efficiently, and alternative ways to secure a full set before the late game.

When Does Daedric Armor Start Appearing?

Daedric Armor only begins spawning in the world once you reach Level 20. Before that, you won’t find it on enemies or in loot chests. However, once you hit this threshold, several methods become available to acquire the armor—some faster than others.

Method 1: Farming NPCs at Roxey Inn

One of the earliest and most reliable ways to obtain Daedric Armor is by visiting Roxey Inn, located northeast of the Imperial City along the Red Ring Road.

Why Roxey Inn?

  • At Level 20+, NPCs inside (or outside) the inn may spawn wearing full Daedric Armor.
  • Unlike random loot drops, this method lets you target specific enemies for quick gear acquisition.

Step-by-Step Process:

  • Travel to Roxey Inn (fast travel works if you’ve discovered it).
  • Check the NPCs—particularly warriors or mercenaries loitering outside.
  • If a Daedric-wearing NPC appears, prepare for combat:
    • They won’t go down easily, so bring strong weapons and healing potions.
    • Their allies may join the fight, so be ready for a tough battle.
  • Loot the body—if they’re wearing Daedric gear, take it!
  • Pro Tips for Success:

Persuade or bribe locals inside the inn to help you in the fight.
✔ If Imperial Guards intervene, resist arrest, finish the fight, then surrender afterward—you’ll keep the armor but serve jail time.
No Daedric Armor? Leave the area for 3 in-game days and return—NPCs (and their gear) may reset.

Method 2: Completing Boethia’s Quest – "The Tournament of Ten Bloods"

If you prefer a guaranteed way to obtain Daedric Armor (and earn an epic weapon), Boethia’s Daedric Quest is your best option.

    Requirements:

    • Level 20+
    • 1 Daedra Heart (to activate the quest)

    Step-by-Step Guide:

  • Obtain a Daedra Heart (see section below).
  • Travel to Boethia’s Shrine, located in the mountains east of Cheydinhal.
  • Place the Daedra Heart on the altar to activate the Tournament of Ten Bloods.
  • Enter the portal—you’ll face nine powerful champions in one-on-one battles.

    • Many of these enemies wear Daedric Armor pieces.
    • Defeat them and loot their bodies for gear.
  • After the ninth champion, a portal back to Cyrodiil appears.

    • You’ll also receive Goldbrand, a powerful fiery katana.
  • Pro Tips for Success:

Save manually before entering—once inside, you can’t leave until you win.
✔ Bring strong healing potions, magic resistance, and high-damage weapons.
✔ If you’re struggling, use paralysis or invisibility spells to control fights.

How to Get a Daedra Heart (For Boethia’s Quest)

Since Boethia’s quest requires a Daedra Heart, here’s how to get one:

    1. Kill Dremora or Xivilai

    • Dremora (found in Oblivion Gates) drop Daedra Hearts at any level.
    • Xivilai (stronger Daedra) start appearing at Level 22+ and also drop hearts.

    2. Buy One from a Shop

    • Visit The Main Ingredient (Imperial City Market District) – they occasionally sell Daedra Hearts.

Alternative Ways to Get Daedric Armor

If the above methods aren’t working, consider these alternatives:

    1. Loot High-Level Bosses & Chests

    • Some high-level bandit chiefs or Ayleid dungeon bosses may wear Daedric gear.
    • Legendary Chests in late-game areas (like inside Oblivion Gates) can contain pieces.

    2. Use the "Rune of Transmutation" (Exploit)

    • If playing the original Oblivion (not sure if patched in Remastered), you can:

    • Drop an item (like an iron dagger) in front of a Sigil Stone.
    • Save, then reload—the item may transform into Daedric gear.

    Final Thoughts

Daedric Armor is the ultimate status symbol in Oblivion Remastered—both in power and style. Whether you farm NPCs at Roxey Inn or conquer Boethia’s deadly tournament, securing this armor will make you nearly unstoppable.
