Enhance your gameplay in Oblivion Remastered by boosting your Athletics skill. Discover tips and strategies to level up fast!
Time to lace up those virtual boots and feel the wind in your digital hair! Leveling up the
Athletics skill in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is indeed a worthwhile endeavor, especially for adventurers who prefer the immersive experience of traversing Cyrodiil on foot rather than relying solely on fast travel. A high Athletics skill translates to faster movement, allowing you to reach your destinations more quickly and efficiently, and explore the world at your own pace.Fortunately, Oblivion Remastered offers both passive and active methods to boost your Athletics prowess, ensuring you can sprint across plains and swim through lakes with increasing speed and endurance. Let's dive into the most effective ways to increase your Athletics skill and the valuable benefits it provides.
Oblivion Remastered: Increase Athletics Skill
How to Swiftly Increase Athletics in Oblivion Remastered:
While simply sprinting and swimming will gradually increase your Athletics skill, there are significantly faster methods to accelerate your progress. Notably,
swimming grants more Athletics experience than sprinting. This opens up an intriguing AFK (Away From Keyboard) exploit that can rapidly level your Athletics. To take advantage of this, you'll need the ability to breathe underwater.
Acquire Underwater Breathing: The key to this exploit is obtaining a reliable source of underwater breathing. The Fin Gleam helmet provides this enchantment and can be found in the following location: - Sunken Chest in the northernmost part of Anvil Bay: Look for a submerged chest near the coastline in the northern section of Anvil Bay. The Fin Gleam helmet is usually inside.
- Argonian Racial Ability: If you chose to play as an Argonian, you possess the innate ability to breathe underwater, making the Fin Gleam helmet unnecessary for this exploit.
Locate The Bloated Float: Head to the Waterfront District of the Imperial City. On the eastern side of this district, you'll find a large ship docked – The Bloated Float. The AFK Swimming Exploit: - Equip the Fin Gleam helmet (or utilize your Argonian underwater breathing).
- Navigate to the front (bow) of The Bloated Float.
- Swim directly forward at the rudder (the steering mechanism at the back) of the ship. If positioned correctly, you will be swimming in place, continuously gaining Athletics experience without moving.
- Crucially, ensure you are actively swimming and not simply bumping into the ship's hull. Switch to third-person view to observe your character's arm movements and confirm they are performing a breaststroke.
- To sustain this swimming action without manually holding the controls, you can employ one of the following methods:
- Controller Users: Secure a rubber band around your controller's left analog stick, holding it in the "up" (forward) position. Alternatively, carefully position your controller on a surface so that the left stick is continuously pushed upwards.
- PC Users: Simply press the "Q" key to activate auto-move, which will maintain your forward swimming motion.
By leaving your character in this position, you can passively level your Athletics skill while you attend to other tasks.
Guidance from the Fleet-Footed: All Athletics Trainers in Oblivion Remastered:
For a more direct and controlled approach to increasing your Athletics, seek out these five trainers scattered across Cyrodiil:
Trainer Name | Trainer Location | Trainer Skill Level |
Mahei | Mahei's House, Leyawiin | 0-40 (Apprentice) |
Uuras the Shepherd | Southwest area of Skingrad | 0-40 (Apprentice) |
Hauls-Ropes-Faster | The Fo'c'sle Docks, Anvil | 40-70 (Journeyman) |
Honditar | Around the great oak tree, Chorrol | 40-70 (Journeyman) |
Rusia Bradus | Anvil, beside the Abandoned House (Requires discovering 30 map locations) | 71-100 (Master) |
The Rewards of Swiftness: What Athletics Does in Oblivion Remastered:
The Athletics skill governs your character's sprint and swim speeds, as well as the efficiency of your fatigue regeneration. As your Athletics skill increases, you'll experience the following benefits:
- Increased Sprint Speed: Cover ground more quickly, allowing for faster exploration and quicker escapes from danger.
- Increased Swim Speed: Navigate bodies of water with greater agility and speed.
- Improved Fatigue Regeneration: Your Stamina (Fatigue) will regenerate at a faster rate, allowing youto sprint and perform other strenuous actions for longer durations.
- Reduced Fatigue Drain: Higher Athletics levels will decrease the amount of Fatigue consumed when sprinting.
Here's a breakdown of the passive mastery perks you unlock at various Athletics skill levels:
Skill Level | Effects |
Novice (0) | Your Fatigue regenerates more slowly when running. |
Apprentice (25) | Your Fatigue regenerates at a normal rate when running. |
Journeyman (50) | Sprinting consumes slightly less Fatigue. |
Expert (75) | Sprinting consumes a lot less Fatigue. |
Master (100) | Sprinting no longer consumes Fatigue. |
By diligently training your Athletics skill, whether through activesprinting and swimming or the efficient AFK exploit, you'll transformyour character into a veritable speed demon, capable of traversing thevast landscapes of Cyrodiil with unparalleled swiftness and endurance.Embrace the freedom of movement and leave slow travel in the dust!
