Mud can be obtained by exploring Mangrove Swamps, the temperate swampy regions of the game. These differ from traditional swamps. The key to finding a mangrove swamp is to look for the desert and jungle biomes, which are usually near a mangrove swamp.




In the mangrove swamps, the ground will be covered with mud and you will have to pick up the mud as if it were any other block.

When you have enough mud in your inventory, you will have to mix it with wheat, to obtain Packed Mud. You will need four blocks of Packed Mud to create Mud Bricks, which will allow you to build a mud structure or place it in the mangrove swamp, for easy access to the mangrove trees in that area.
