MGS Delta Snake Eater: All Animal and Food Item
Key Rules for Your Food Collection
To officially register a food item in your collection, you must do two things:
- Capture it: Find or trap the animal, plant, or snack.
- Eat it: You must consume the item to log it. This is a crucial step that can make some other challenges tricky, so save your game often!
Snakes (12 Items)
This category includes 12 different species of snakes, some of which are very rare and can only be found during a specific boss battle.
- King Cobra: First found in Dremuchij North. Also found commonly in other areas.
- Taiwanese Cobra: Found in Chyornaya Peschera Cave Branch.
- Thai Cobra: First found in Krasnogorje Mountain Base and also appears in other mountainous areas.
- Coral Snake: First found in Chyornyj Prud and commonly found in other grassy areas.
- Milk Snake: First found in Chyornyj Prud and commonly found in other grassy areas.
- Green Tree Python: Found hanging from trees in Dremuchij North. Also appears during the boss battle with The Fear in Graniny Gorki South.
- Giant Anaconda: First found in Dremuchij South and commonly found in other forest areas.
- Reticulated Python: First found in Dremuchij South and commonly found in other forest areas.
- Snake Liquid, Snake Solid, & Snake Solidus: These three are found exclusively during the final showdown with The Boss in Rokovoj Bereg. Use your Thermal Goggles to spot them slithering near one of the logs.
- Tsuchinoko: This legendary, one-of-a-kind snake can only be captured with a Mousetrap in specific locations like Graniny Gorki, Bolshaya Past South, or Sokrovenno. Be warned: if you eat it, you will lose your chance to get the Infinity Face Paint reward at the end of the game.
Land-Based Animals (12 Items)
This category includes a variety of mammals, birds, and insects.
- Cobalt Blue Tarantula: First found on the walls of Ponizovje Warehouse. Also appears inside buildings like the Graniny Gorki Lab.
- Emperor Scorpion: First found in Krasnogorje Mountain Base. Also appears in other mountainous areas.
- Parrot: This is an easily missed animal. It's found during the encounter with The End in Sokrovenno. It will land in various places, like tree stumps or the weapons storeroom. It disappears after you defeat The End.
- White-Rumped Vulture: First found in Krasnogorje Mountain Base. Also appears in other mountainous areas.
- Red Avadavat: Found on tree branches in Graniny Gorki Lab Exterior: Outside Walls.
- Magpie: First found in Dremuchij North and also appears commonly in other forest areas.
- Sunda Whistling Thrush: First found in Dremuchij North and also appears commonly in other forest areas.
- Rat: First found in the crawlspace underneath the building in Bolshaya Past Base. Also found commonly in other urban areas.
- European Rabbit: First found in Graniny Gorki South and also found commonly in other areas.
- Flying Squirrel: Found climbing trees in Dremuchij East.
- Markhor: Found in Sokrovenno during the encounter with The End.
- Vampire Bat: Found in Chyornaya Peschera Cave Branch.

- Kenyan Mangrove Crab: First found in Chyornaya Peschera Cave Branch.
- Bigeye Trevally: First found in the river in Ponizovje South.
- Maroon Shark: First found in the river in Ponizovje South.
- Arowana: First found in Chyornyj Prud.
- Indian Gavial: First found in Dremuchij Swampland. Very commonly found in other swampy areas.
- Otton Frog: First found in Chyornyj Prud.
- Tree Frog: First found in Chyornyj Prud.
- Poison Dart Frog: First found in Chyornyj Prud and is also easily obtainable during the encounter with The Fear in Graniny Gorki South.
Mushrooms (7 Items)
This category includes a variety of mushrooms with different effects. Be mindful of the poisonous ones.
- Russian Oyster Mushroom: First found in Dremuchij South and appears in most forest areas.
- Ural Luminescent: This one is highly missable and can only be found in Svyatogornyj West.
- Siberian Inkcap: First found in Dremuchij South and appears in most forest areas.
- Fly Agaric: First found in Graniny Gorki South.
- Russian Glowcap: Found exclusively in the Chyornya Peschera Cave where it glows in the dark.
- Spatsa: Found in Graniny Gorki Lab 1F, Svyatogornyj South, and Sokrovenno West.
- Baikal Scaly Tooth: First found in Dremuchij East and appears in most forest areas.
Other Food Items (9 Items)
This category contains miscellaneous items, from fruits to packaged goods.
- Yabloko Moloko: First found in Dremuchij North, growing on trees.
- Russian False Mango: First found in Dremuchij North, growing on trees.
- Golova: First found in Dremuchij North, growing on trees.
- Vine Melon: Found exclusively in Svyatogornyj South, hanging from vines.
- Hornets' Nest: First found in Dolinovodno and commonly in other areas.
- The Pain Hornets' Nest: This unique item can only be obtained during the boss fight with ThePain. Equip a normal Hornets' Nest, let The Pain cover you in bees, andthis will transform your nest into this special item. Make sure to eatit immediately to log it in your collection.
- Russian Ration: First found in Bolshaya Past Base and commonly found in food storage sheds.
- Instant Noodles: First found in Ponizovje Warehouse. Also commonly found and received from EVA at Krasnogorje Mountaintop.
- Calorie Mate: First found in Bolshaya Past Base and commonly found in food storage sheds.
Reward for a Full Collection
Once you have successfully collected and eaten at least one of every single food item in the game, you will unlock the Gastronome trophy/achievement. You will also receive the EZ Gun, a non-lethal pistol with infinite ammo and a significant boost to your Camo Index.
