Master the art of combat in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 with our guide on how to knock out enemies
While open combat is an option in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, stealth and non-lethal approaches can be equally effective, especially when discretion is paramount. This guide explains how to knock out enemies and NPCs, offering a less violent alternative to outright killing.
Kingdom Come Deliverance 2: Knock Out Enemies
The Art of the Knockout:
Knocking out an opponent can be preferable to killing them for various reasons, such as avoiding unnecessary bloodshed, completing specific quest objectives, or simply maintaining a lower profile. Here's the process:
- Crouch and Sneak: Press the circle button to crouch, then carefully sneak up behind your target.
- The Knockout Prompt: When you are close enough to the NPC from behind, the "Knock Out" prompt will appear in the bottom right corner of the screen. Press the corresponding button.
- The Struggle: A quick-time event will begin. A blue icon with swords will appear. Press the R2 button to successfully knock out the NPC.
- Preventing Escape: If Henry fails the initial attempt, the NPC will struggle. A shield icon will appear. Quickly press the L2 button to prevent their escape and secure the knockout.
Factors Affecting Knockout Success:
The success of a knockout attempt depends on several factors, primarily the strength of both Henry and the target NPC. A significant strength difference can make knockouts more challenging.
Perks to Enhance Knockouts:
Two specific perks can significantly improve your chances of successfully knocking out enemies:
- Tight Grip: This perk enhances your grip, making it harder for targets to break free during the struggle.
- Sandman: This perk increases your overall knockout success rate.
Acquiring these perks will make stealth knockouts considerably easier and more reliable.
Stealth Kills: A Lethal Alternative:
For those situations where a more permanent solution is required, stealth kills are an option.
- Acquire a Dagger: You will need a dagger equipped to perform a stealth kill.
- Sneak Attack: The approach is similar to a knockout. Sneak up behind the NPC.
- The Kill Prompt: With the dagger equipped, a prompt will appear, allowing you to perform a stealth kill.
Choosing Your Approach:
Whether you choose to knock out or kill your enemies depends on the specific situation and your preferred playstyle. Knockouts offer a less violent approach, while stealth kills provide a more decisive solution. Understanding both methods gives you greater flexibility in navigating the challenges of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
