Obtaining Pebbles: The Intended Path

The primary method for acquiring a horse involves following the main questline. Here's a breakdown of the steps:

Troskowitz and the Wedding: Begin by speaking with the Bailiff in Troskowitz to learn about the upcoming wedding.

Radovan the Blacksmith: Investigate Radovan, the blacksmith, and travel to Tachov to meet him.

Son of a Blacksmith Quest: Complete the "Son of a Blacksmith" quest, which involves forging two horseshoes and two axes.

The Jaunt Quest: After speaking with Radovan again, he will send Henry on "The Jaunt" quest. Travel to Semine (north of Tachov) and enter the keep to trigger a cutscene.

Confrontation and Assistance: Defeat Jerkov in a fistfight, then speak with Lord Semine. Agree to help search for the missing cart.

Requesting a Horse: During the conversation with Lord Semine, choose the dialogue option: "I thought you might lend me a horse."

The Horse Seller: Talk to the Horse Seller in the keep's stables.

Convincing the Seller: Persuade the Stable Seller that "Pebbles" is Henry's horse. This requires an Intimidation score of 12 or a Charisma score of at least 10.

Reclaiming Pebbles: Successfully convincing the seller will allow Henry to reclaim Pebbles, his first horse.

Note that Pebbles is the starting horse. Players can later purchase or acquire other horses and equip them with various attachments, including mounts, horseshoes, saddlebags, and armor.

Alternative Horse Acquisition Methods

Besides the questline, two other options exist:

• Purchasing: Horses can be bought from Horse Sellers throughout the game world, but this can be expensive.
• Stealing: Players cansteal horses by dismounting enemies or engaging in outright theft fromstables. However, increased notoriety will make it harder to completecertain objectives, and guards may search Henry for stolen goods.

Selling Stolen Horses

Stolen horses can be sold at specific locations. Find a horse pen and speakto the clerk. They will offer to buy stolen horses, with the pricedepending on the horse's quality and equipment.

Important Considerations

• Horse Replacement: Acquiring a new horse, whether by purchase or "laundering" a stolenone, will replace the current horse (including Pebbles). There is noway to recover the previous horse. Therefore, carefully consider horsestats before making a switch.
• Stolen Horse Ownership: "Laundering" a stolen horse essentially makes it your own, but you will lose your current horse in the process. Weigh the benefits carefully.
