Beyond the main quest and powerful Wonder Weapons, Treyarch has included a classic tradition beloved by the community: a Music Easter Egg. This guide will walk you through every step to activate the haunting track, "Turn to Ashes," performed by Kevin Sherwood and Elena Siegman, and fill the battlefield with its iconic metal riffs.

What is the Ashes of the Damned Music Easter Egg?

Following a long-standing Zombies tradition, the Ashes of the Damned map features a hidden song that players can trigger by finding and interacting with a series of three audio devices scattered across the landscape. Unlike main quests, completing this Easter Egg does not grant gameplay rewards like Perks or Pack-a-Punch upgrades; the reward is purely atmospheric, replacing the ambient map music with a powerful, custom soundtrack that enhances the undead-slaying action.

Step-by-Step Guide to Activating the Song

To unlock "Turn to Ashes," you must locate three pairs of Mister Peeks Headphones. These are hidden in three distinct Points of Interest (POIs) on the map: Janus Towers Plaza, Ashwood, and Exit 115. You must interact with all three in a single match, in any order, to trigger the song.

Headphone Location #1: Janus Towers Plaza (Server Room)

Your first objective lies within the high-tech confines of Janus Towers Plaza. Make your way to the Server Room, the same area where you interact with T.E.D.D. and Ol' Tessie. Onceinside, navigate to the bank of servers directly opposite the Quick Revive Perk Machine. Carefully inspect the server racks, and you will find the first pair of Mister Peeks Headphones wedged within one of them. Press the interactprompt to secure the first activation.

Headphone Location #2: Ashwood (Judgement Square)

The next set of headphones is concealed in the more dilapidated region of Ashwood. Head to Judgement Square on the eastern side of this POI. Locate the staircase leading up to the VS Recon wall-buy. Instead of focusing on the weapon, position yourself on the stairs andlook upwards towards the damaged roof of the structure. You will spotthe headphones perched precariously on a broken ledge. A well-aimedinteraction will trigger the second audio cue.

Headphone Location #3: Exit 115

For the final step, you must travel to the remote Exit 115 area, typically accessed via the Ol' Tessie transport system. Uponarrival, move to the western side of this zone where you will find aderelict truck. Climb onto the hood of this vehicle and look downthrough the front windshield towards the passenger seat. The third andfinal pair of Mister Peeks Headphones will be sitting clearly on theseat. Interact with them to complete the sequence.
