The Art of the Silent Takedown: Knockouts

Stealth knockouts offer a non-lethal method of neutralizing enemies or unwanted witnesses. They are ideal for situations where you want to avoid bloodshed or minimize the risk of severe repercussions.

Crouch and Conceal: Initiate stealth mode by pressing the crouch key (default: C). Ensure you are out of sight of your target and any other nearby characters. Maintaining visual cover is crucial for a successful takedown.

The Creeping Shadow: Slowly approach your target from behind. Patience is key here. Moving too quickly can alert your target and ruin your attempt.

The Prompt: As you get close enough, the "Knock Out" prompt will appear on the bottom right of the screen. This indicates you're in the optimal position for a takedown.

The Chokehold: Press the interact key (default: F) to initiate the chokehold. Henry will grab the NPC from behind.

The Final Blow: A blue swords icon will appear in the center of the screen. When it does, press the attack key (default: left mouse button) to deliver a swift punch, hopefully knocking the target unconscious.

The Struggle: Sometimes, the target will resist. A shield icon will appear. Immediately press the parry/block key (default: right mouse button) to prevent them from breaking free. A successful parry will ensure the knockout.

Body Disposal: Once the target is unconscious, you can pick them up and move their body to a secluded location. This prevents others from discovering your actions.

The Risk of Recognition: Be aware that even after a knockout, there's a chance the NPC will recognize Henry if they encounter him again. They might report him to the guards or even attack him on sight.

For those struggling with stealth takedowns, the game provides an excellent tutorial. Head to Lower Semine, southwest of Troskowitz, and find Miller Kreyzl. Accept his offer of work, and he will introduce you to Hensel, who will train you in the "art of thievery." This training covers lockpicking, pickpocketing, and, most importantly, stealth takedowns. Hensel allows you to practice on him repeatedly, giving you ample opportunity to perfect your technique. Each successful takedown during training also grants you valuable Stealth skill experience.

Acquiring a Dagger: Afree dagger can be found near the lockpick training chest in theMiller's shack. Alternatively, you can purchase one from BlacksmithRadovan in Tachov, north of Troskowitz.

Equipping the Dagger:In your inventory, select the dagger. A highlighted yellow gear slotindicates the dedicated dagger slot. Place the dagger in this slot toequip it.

The Silent Strike: With a dagger equipped, approach your target from behind. The "Stealth Kill" prompt will appear. Press the interact key (default: F) to perform thekill.
