• Exit the Ruins: After you solve the puzzle to open the ruins' entrance, you will find yourself in a series of deep trenches.
• Look for the Glint: As you begin to navigate these trenches, keep a sharp eye out for an offshoot from the main path. At the end of this offshoot, you'll spot a distinctive yellow or golden glint on the ground.
• Read the Note: Interact with the glint to pick up a note and the Golden Watch. The note is from a soldier, revealing a harrowing story: during the storming of the forest, they found three brothers from the Pal family cowering in a farmhouse and had to carry out a grim order. One of the brothers was wearing the golden watch, which was supposed to be returned to the soldier's partner.

The note gives you a sense of purpose, but it doesn't tell you whereto take the watch. The key to solving this mystery lies in a tiny,easily missed detail on the item itself.

• Find Ernest Caddell: Ernest is located in the farmhouse's basement. You'll find him next to a table with a photo of his son. If you lookclosely at the photo, you can see his son is wearing the very samegolden watch you have in your possession. This serves as a powerfulconfirmation that you have found the right person.
• Trade the Watch: To give him the watch, you must use the "Trade" option. On a gamepad, you can do this by pressing up on the D-pad. Ernest will express his gratitude for the return of his son's watch,and a notification will appear, letting you know that you have completed a good deed.

Part 4: How to Claim Your Final Reward

While the narrative reward is immediate, the tangible reward is not. This is a crucial distinction that can confuse many players. To get your physical prize, you must first progress much further into the game.

• Reach the Watcher's Nest: You must first continue your main quest line and make your way to the Watcher's Nest area. This involves solving the Pentos' Tomb puzzle, which is a prerequisite for moving on.
• Find Gildas Brom: Once you have completed the Tomb puzzle, you can speak to a character named Gildas Brom in the Watcher's Nest. He is the central hub for claiming most of your "Good Deed" rewards.
• Claim Your Reward: Speak with Gildas and select the dialogue option at the very top: "Have I helped enough Hadeans?" He will recognize your efforts and provide you with a reward for your hard work.
