Arabia Saudi allegedly hacked into the
Amazon owner's phone and allegedly took private information related to
Jeff Bezos and other people close to him, according to Gavin de Becker, the researcher hired by
Jeff Bezos. The researcher said: "Our investigators and several experts concluded with great confidence that the
Saudis had access to
Bezos' telephone and obtained private information," he said, adding that they had delivered the investigation reports to the US authorities. Something the Saudi embassy in Washington did not comment on.
Previously the owner of
Amazon had accused of extortion to
American Media Inc, for allegedly leaking intimate conversations of him with the actress Lauren Sanchez, unless he said that the editor was not "politically motivated or influenced by political forces."
Before
Bezos made the accusation, information had already been released about his separation from his wife
MacKenzie Bezos, which was announced at the same time hours before
The National Enquirer published a series of flirtatious texts between
Bezos and Lauren. Sanchez, so it is presumed that this could have motivated the breakup of the marriage.
A spokesperson for
American Media, described the accusations by the researcher hired by
Bezos as "false and baseless" and said that
American Media would be investigating these accusations and also those made directly by
Amazon's owner.
